Hi there!

With everything going on in the world my main blog has become more politically focused, & so it felt more considerate of others to create a separate environment for me to explore my enjoyment of this story. I tend to approach OP mainly through the lens of manga canon, but sometimes bits of the anime find their way in. My interpretation from there is specifically based on the VIZ translation. Part of why I made this blog is that I'm going to be starting my first through reread of the series soon, so this post will eventually be updated to reflect that! Oh, also, I tend to enjoy getting chatty in the post-tags, so if you're ever looking for elaboration on something I've said it would be better to look there first.

On another note, I would like to ask that people avoid trying to breach the topics of sanpu, luhan, & lulaw with me, as the age-gaps make me very deeply uncomfortable.

Otherwise, standard DNI crietiera applies (this include pro shippers btw)- & though this is not due to a presumed likelihood of posting of NSFW content, I would prefer to keep this space 18+.

i’m making this post just to be honest, but  i fell back into bad habits irt my private/personal ai use for some months after i made my last post.   i’m not going to make excuses for it, i just want to say i’m sorry.  some shit hit the fan in my personal life and i coped horribly, the guilt from which stressed me out so much so that i quit smoking after having maintained that habit for like 7 years.  i knew it was bad, but i wrote it off by telling myself that it was like people tracing as art practice knowing they don’t intend to share the traced work with the public, or reposting art they haven’t made themselves on pinterest, that it wasted water in the ways that long showers or meat consumption when one doesn’t strictly need it create water waste, etc.  this was cowardly of me.  i should have been better.  i’m still not sure if/when i will return to this blog, or even if i have any “right” to per se, i just wanted to say again that i’m sorry.  i’ve waited longer between quitting and making this post than i did last time as a means of ensuring i don’t make the same mistake twice.  i apologize to any followers who were hurt by this, to the art & writing communities, and to anyone seeing this in the future that feels harmed by this knowledge.  i hope i can be forgiven, though i know nobody is obligated to.

that said, dr. fatima put out a very good video on ai use, ethics, & harm reduction which i watched and am going to link here, because i think a lot of what she had to say is very important.

6-year-old Joan Al-Habil is has been repeatedly hospitalized due to severe gastrointestinal problems and overwhelming fatigue. This poor girl has been to multiple facilities and seen multiple doctors, undergone extensive testing (as extensive as is possible in Gaza's collapsed medical system), even having to endure an unsedated endoscopy.

She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the lOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.

Her condition is so serious that she even had to undergo surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her condition is. The surgery was successful to a degree, but she is going to need ongoing treatment to manage her symptoms.

The treatments are administered weekly and cost $500 USD (just under €500 EUR). Her family has no income and cannot afford this. If Joan goes more than a few days without treatment, her symptoms worsen rapidly, and she sometimes has to be hospitalized. It is vital that we help her family procure her treatments so that her condition does not worsen!

i honestly don't know how to say this but the survival of an entire group of people who are going through a active genocide should not have to depend on how well they are able to articulate and present their condition to you in a post.
