“They would be heartbroken.”

That isn’t the problem. That has never been the problem. This helplessness isn’t spurred from a lack of compassion or a sense of loveless. It’s spurred by hostility from oneself. This is a cut so deep only I can can be at fault. This haunting “reality” that follows me... Replaying every happy moment that fell flat, reminding me of every mistake I made.

This Hell cannot be escaped, even in my dreams I’m there. It’s my head. No living person has put me here. My thoughts are my demons, and I am forever chained to them.

A small piece of metal could be my escape... Shatter the skull I’m bound to. That key I lack.
