This week while in Houston, I got the opportunity to see CHVRCHES and their opener Basecamp at the House of Blues. Basecamp really killed it with their singing and soaring synth tracks, and you can listen to a remix of their track "Emmanuel" from Hayden James above! P.S. It is well known that I am very into remixes of older tracks, especially "Rock the Casbah." Flight Facilities has featured one in their decade mixes and now LUXXURY has put out this edit which I honestly cannot not dance to it's just so funky. I love the feel and groove of it along with the fact that I can see it's respect for the original track. Take a listen.

It's finally here! Cults has just released their sophomore album Static and I couldn't be more excited. You can read a whole review of the album from Pitchfork here. Additionally, I figured I might be able to find some lovely remix out in the world and lo and behold - this remix of "Bad Things" featuring Freddie Gibbs provides a different feel that still stays true to the oddball falsetto and beats that is Cults. Take a listen and make sure you get ahold of their new stuff ASAP.

We were supremely disappointed to hear that ACL's final day of shows has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Hopefully, everyone out there is staying safe, but we know it's a bit rough to get denied your love of some of these groups. So, I've lined up a couple of tracks to soothe your sadness. First up, Toro Y Moi's remix of Billie Holiday's "My Man" (which is part of a larger compilation released under Verve Music Group that tributes the First Ladies of music).
Additionally, there's a tranced-up remix of Tame Impala's "Mind Mischief" from The Field and a Breakbot remix of "Trying to Be Cool" from Phoenix's Bankrupt! for your listening pleasure.

I am really careful with any mashups so it is not offensive to either original and this track I can exclaim is absolutely wonderful.
Disclosure's gritty beat for A Fire Starts to Burn is perfect with Bell Biv Devoe's kind of lyric rap thing they got going on with Poison.

Australian cutie Flume was absolutely incredible tonight. Alki and I got to see him in Boulder and it was definitely awesome. He knows how to put on a show - and how to remix incredibly well - including his own tracks. However, one of the highlights was when he played Disclosure, so if you haven't heard his 'You & Me' remix, it's never too late to check it out!
