Fennel, vision still blurred from her crying, took a second to adjust her sight. When she did, she noticed that the man was the same one she encountered in the Dreamyard. Did he follow her home that day? Did she not take notice of him doing so? And if it really was because of his Litten, what would that mean? Does the Litten somehow know of Fennel’s shady past? But that was the past, she isn’t like that now, things were different.

So why would his Litten try to track her down?

Fennel tried to fight back her paranoia to at least be polite with the man, in case he somehow knew as well. After all, she did know of another who could talk to Pokemon, so the possibility of this man holding the same ability is possible.

“Hm? Your Litten must’ve known I had a cold and wanted to warm the apartment up. Such a caring little guy. Mind if I see them?” she smiled, again, hiding any indication of guilt or paranoia.

Nocturne looked over at the buildings as if he was searching for something. While Darkrai usually tend to give others nightmares, they are also drawn towards any that catch their interest. Which happens to be the reason why he’s currently standing on the door step to one of the buildings.

“I hate it when someone has a nightmare during the day…” he muttered to himself as he knocked on the door.

That terrible dream...a sequence of horrifying memories...they were back to haunt her.

Fennel snapped awake to see the calamity she had caused on her desk and a knock at the door. Probably from a concerned neighbor who had heard her thrashing about.

She looked over at the small mirror that had been knocked over and observed herself. Her blue eyes now red and puffy from the horrific images displayed to her in what was supposed to be a peaceful slumber.

But I’m free now, aren’t I?

She then glanced at a particular drawer on her desk, the third one down to be exact.

“No Fennel, come on, you’re better than this. You gave it up for good, you said so yourself. Now go answer the door and stop being so pathetic,” she whispered to herself, voice still shaking with fear and sadness.

Fennel grabbed her robe and slippers to stage like she was having a cold so nobody would show too much concern.

“I’m sick alright,” she muttered as she passed the hallway mirror to the front door.

She opened and greeted Nocturne in the scratchiest voice she could muster, adding in a small cough to really sell it.

“Annyeonghaseyo?”
