she wants to believe it, knows that quentin would do just about anything to protect her, but this world is something new and from what she was told before entering it would not be so simple. all she knows is that this is a deadly world, that people are killed over and over and over again. she doesnt know how much time has passed for him since he was pulled in, doesn't have a clue how many times hes done this, but he seems confident. like he knows what hes doing.

“how do you know?” sure, she can follow him around and do as he does, hide it out until she can escape, but that doesnt mean that she'd be fine. hiding isnt a guarentee that shes safe. running isn't a promise that she'll live. surviving is not going to be simple, and going into her first trial means it's not likely she'll survive it. yes, she'd come back, but she'd still have to die first. then again, does she know for sure that she isnt already dead?

“I think I'm gonna die, quentin.” something no one wants to say and no one wants to hear. but it's a harsh truth they have to face. even if she doesnt get taken out on her first trial, he could get taken out trying to help her. it's entirely likely that either one - or even both - of them could die. it's a thought that goes through her mind a lot even before she sees the killer, but then she sees him step out of the shadows.

“freddy.” spoken quietly as they move to hide, feelings rushing back as she realizes that she has to face him once again. she'd felt so confident last time, in their plan and how to execute it, but they still didnt win. and now, with nothing but blind hope, they have to try to survive again. perhaps its only fitting that her first fight is freddy, but that only makes it more terrifying. only makes it more real.
