Trolls vs the World
The online world is full of people who decided that their bad day or bad attitude needed to become someone else's bad day. Trolls seem to love nothing more than getting under someone's skin, making others feel bad, starting arguments, and watching the world burn (figuratively speaking, of course).
To the everyday troller, no one is safe. Women, men, children, elderly. Trolls will pick apart and attack anyone and everyone without care. Unfortunately, attacks on women seem to be of two distinct varieties - Sexual Advances (creating stories/images that zoom in on the beauty of the female victim, either in a morbidly positive way or a nasty negative way) or Sexism ("get in the kitchen and make me dinner" etc. etc.).
It's believed by many that if people "just ignore" them, the Trolls will just go away. However, how true could that be? Anyone who wakes up in a foul mood has the possibility to become a Troll - and some people out there have too much "fun" and love the adrenaline/dopamine rush they get, a sense of achievement when they troll online. So, would "ignoring" them actually do any good?
