sometimes I think about gabriel from s13 apocalypse au, wondering where he went

he'd never met sam and dean, so he probably never came out of hiding

probably had no reason to fight the inevitable

maybe he watched his brothers kill each other and hid far away, paralyzed by his father's words of this "being their destiny"

maybe he saw the world break into shambles and weeped as the only archangel who loved humanity more than his own ego...

or, maybe, the love of humanity is something that sam winchester made him feel when they met

because gabriel that we know never really cared prior to seeing sam suffer

and maybe due to that, au gabriel was another soulless selfish jerk who didn't care about the world at all

because there was no sam winchester in it to fight for

but... I guess we'll never know.
