Hi everyone! Sorry that I’ve sorta abandoned my rp blogs, but life has been insane and I’ve lost motivation to stay on Tumblr for rping due to just how frustrating this website is. However! If anyone is interested, I am very willing to rp on Discord! My name there is bi-fi#3273. Terra nodded, setting her down on her bed gently and offering her pinky. “I will be there to pick you up. But remember the rules. Don’t take rides from anyone even if they tell you we sent them. If someone tries to take you home for us ask them for the codeword and then you run, you hide, and you wait for us to find you.”

She hooked Terra’s pinky with her own, nodding. “I know. Even if Aunt Kevana comes, I can’t go with her either. Just you or Mother.” Caroline recited. “I gotta go to dumb school and then go home with the safe people, right?”

“I… I don’t.”

There was a tug at her heart, but her gaze never turned. The voice coming from overboard was musical, lilting… But she could never look over the edge. It wasn’t out of desire not to. The temptation of the voice just couldn’t counter the sheer terror Vanessa had.

She held a strong, deep-seated phobia of the water. The endless expanse of the ocean was the perfect canvas to paint her fears on. The voice had lured her above deck. But still Vanessa quaked at the top of the stairs, her eyes firmly fixed upon the ground.

“Ah.” she said, frowning as she remembered that she was still human. Cecil ran her tongue over her teeth, pleased to know that at least they were still sharp just in case of an emergency. 

When Vanessa came down, she nodded and headed to the staircase, needing to get a breath of air. She missed the ocean already…

“You’ll have to learn how to build traps or use weapons,” Vanessa said, holding onto the staircase. She could hear the waves crashing against the side of the boat. Her sea-sickness swelled up again, tinging her skin an unsightly green. “We’ll stick with traps. I’m afraid my skills with guns are a bit lacking.”

Her cloak was pulled up over her nose. Vanessa could barely stand to look at the water, though it was rapidly calming. She kept her head down as Cecil approached and tried to listen to anything but the sounds of the water.

“Why should I deal with such human things when I can just tear stuff apart with my teeth?” she asked, trying to remain confident even though she could barely stand on her own. 

Looking at the water made her fill with ease and a touch of sadness. She missed being back in the ocean...She missed being home.

👶 - One Muse A’s 18th birthday, a trickster (Muse B) appears and claims their parents offered to give them their newborn child as part of a deal …18 years ago.

Kevana had grown up always feeling isolated. Her parents barely paid attention to her despite her being an only child, leaving her to fend for herself in most situations. She was homeschooled by a tutor that came to the house every day and very rarely allowed to go out unless she had to accompany her parents to work for whatever reason. She grew up cold and alone and seemed to not care as she sat in the backyard on her eighteenth birthday, quickly staring up at the bright sky. What point was there to be said about her birthday? It was just another day at this point. That is until the visitor came.

“Not really? My tutor had me read some to study, but mostly I was raised learning how to run my parents’ company.” she shrugged. 

“Well, crap.” Taku ran a hand through her hair. “Alright…we’re gonna have to go through some things when we get home, come on.” She said, starting forward again.

Kevana followed behind her obediently, looking around as they walked. “To be fair, I wasn’t expecting something like this to happen.”

“No, I’m being a worrywart. Let’s just enjoy dinner.” Cecil insisted, looking at Selene apologetically.

Eve sighed, then put a plate in front of Selene. “If you ever need to talk, dear, we’re here for you.”

Selene nodded, wondering if she should tell them about what Bib had said…

Cecil gave Selene a small, encouraging smile. “We love you so much, sweetheart.”

“Hmm?” Selene looked a little distracted, thinking about Bib’s warnings. “Oh, I’m okay.”

“You’ve been reading all day, dear.” Eve said. “Maybe it’s time for a break.”

“I’m getting worried about you. You’re alone too much…I want you to be happy.” Cecil insisted softly.

“I’m fine, momma…” Selene mumbled, clutching the book to her chest. “I like reading a lot.”

“I know.” Cecil said with a small smile. “I still worry about you. We never meant for you to be alone…”

“I’m not alone.” Selene said instantly. But then she realized what that sounded like. “I mean, I have you both. And aunty Eidy.”

Cecil let out a soft sigh and nodded, giving her a sad smile. “Well, let’s go eat.”

Eve had finished with the eggs and started to serve everyone. “Selene, perhaps you can help me in the garden later?” She asked, thinking the girl could use some fresh air.

“I…suppose.” She was reluctant to leave the house if there was danger.

She frowned with concern. “Are you feeling ill?” Cecil asked, moving to check Selene’s temperature.

Selene huffed, trying to move away. “Mooomma I’m fine!” She whined.

“I’m just making sure! You’re worrying me.” she admitted.

Eve frowned at her daughter. “Selene, don’t speak to your mother like that.”

Selene mumbled an apology, hugging her book even more tightly.

Terra scooped her up, bear and all, giving the girl a kiss on her forehead. “I know you don’t, dear, but you might change your mind once you get there. When I was your age I would have given anything to go back to school. I missed learning and recess and not being in constant physical danger.” She set her on the bed and took a seat next to her. “You’re very lucky, you have the privilege of going to school.”

Caroline instantly leaned into her embrace, still touch-starved despite having been with Terra for a while now. The little girl couldn’t help but be scared that tomorrow would be the day when she had to go back home.

“But I wanna be with you…you’re nice to me.” she mumbled, looking at Terra sadly.

“And I will be nice to you when I pick you up at the end of the day. You get to come home to us every afternoon. You won’t stay at school forever.” She chuckled, tapping Caroline’s nose. “I know it’s scary but I really think you’re going to have a nice time if you give it a try.”

She scrunched up her nose in surprise before burying her face into her teddy bear. "...you promise?" she mumbled, peeking up at Terra with all three eyes. "Pinky promise?"

Taku let out a long sigh, waving a hand. “Tradition. You were part of the deal, so I had to take you. Otherwise there would be consequences for me too. Others would use you as a servant or slave. Or worse. But honestly? That didn’t seem attractive.” She shrugged. “So for now? You’ll be my apprentice.”

“An apprentice of what? I still don’t fully understand what’s going on.” she admitted.

Taku raised an eyebrow. “Technically, you’ve been kidnapped. But, if you have the knack for it, I’m willing to teach you a thing or two about this world. Maybe a bit of magic.”

Okay. Kidnapped. Strangely enough, she was fine with that. It was way more interesting to be kidnapped than to be trapped at home. 

“Magic?” she asked, lighting up a bit.

“If you have the knack for it. Over time, maybe.” Taku shrugged. “Potions and the like are easier.”

“Potions?” It was still hard to take in that all this stuff was even real. All she knew was corporate hell, numbers and facts and figures…this was a total 180 from her old life.
