People Are Strange - A Welcome to Night Vale fanmix

A mix of tunes about ignoring the weird or embracing it, not knowing who or when you are, slowly going nuts, death, the desert, the apocalypse, and  pronouncing your love over the radio waves (in no particular order).

Someday - Two Door Cinema Club- we hear that rumbling sound in the distance / it’s coming closer but we don’t like to talk about it   5. Who Are You, Really - Mikky Ekko- so you’re feeling tied up to a sense of control / and make decisions that you think are your own   6. Weightly Ghost - Wintersleep- I got outta bed today starin’ at a ghost / who forgot to float away / didn’t have all that much to say / wouldn’t even tell me his own name / and where’d my body go?  7. Hotel California - The Eagles- relax said the night man / we are programmed to receive / you can check out anytime you like / but you can never leave   8. A Horse With No Name - America- in the desert you can’t remember your name / ‘cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain  9. People Are Strange - The Doors- when you’re strange / faces come outta the rain / when you’re strange / no one remembers your name  10. The One I Love - R.E.M- a simple prop / to occupy my time / this one goes out to the one I love  11. Human - The Killers- close your eyes / clear your heart / cut the cord  12. Do The Panic - Phantom Planet- guess we’re all in trouble, huh / black clouds are upon us / it’s doomsday on the other side of town

Dear Night Vale,

I tried to draw up a jaunty town sign for you, but I got a little bit carried away.  I don’t know what it is now, to be honest - it could be the frontispiece for a dread book whose unknowable contents cause the reader to run gibbering into the street with eyes streaming blood; or possibly it’s just the label for a particularly eldritch type of beer.
