This has been smooth sailing business empire building so far, so I appreciate the reminder at the end that Ellie is still very much out for revenge.

The introduction of the influential merchants and the fact that the key members seem to already be fully informed of Ellie's secret added an interesting element. They're absolutely going to be important allies to have, or best not to have as enemies at the very least.

I'm so annoyed that the kingdom's response to everything falling apart without Elizabeth is to just dump the responsibility onto another woman. The parallels with Elizabeth are already being shown, but we'll see where that leads.

i knew it was going to show up eventually because almost all of the authors in this circle of story ideas love having slavery in their stories, but there's just something about half the episode basically shopping for slaves like they're looking for a good car to have that's just.... lmao.

They let us have hope. Things were going well. The operations were successful, one of them even accidentally, and all targets were met. They were due to be back at the negotiating table in the stronger position that they were hoping for. Of course it was all going to collapse. And do so due to greedy men in power who are falling for their own propaganda. While all of this felt inevitable, the moment was delivered painfully though Zettour and Rudersdorf and watching the latter succumb to the situation while his friend couldn't stop him. Even if the audience potentially didn't care for the bigger picture, watching that ensured the emotional impact of that moment hit.

Actually, why didn't we see grandmother Yasu taking care of her sick daughter or Miya even once? It looks like Miya was responsible not only for earning money but also cooking and other chores. Where was Yasu in all this?
