The Black Eggs of Owakudani
Owakudani or “the Great Boiling Valley” in Hakone, Japan, is hardly the ideal tourist spot. It’s a large volcanic caldera formed around 3,000 years ago following a large eruption of Mount Hakone. Owakudani is still active with boiling pools of sulphur-rich water and huge vents spewing forth steam and volcanic fumes of hydrogen sulphide and sulphur dioxide. The entire area has a strong smell of rotten eggs, but it’s the eggs the tourists who visit the Great Boiling Valley are seeking for.
The Owakudani black eggs or “Kuro-tamago” are regular chicken eggs that are hard-boiled in the naturally hot water pools. The sulphur in the water renders the eggs’ shell black while also imparting a peculiar smell to it. Locals say that taking one can prolong one’s life by seven years. Take two, and you’ll get 14 extra years added to your life. (Source)
Reasons why Ghost Pokemon are the best
So, I made a gif of Cream-san. Now you can have him visit your Tumblr as well. :3
I have a feeling today is going to be a good day. When I checked in on the kitties this morning I found Cream-san (or Jamie in my garden) actually facing me and using an interesting toy. He’s only visited me 7 times so far and I’ve had the game for over a month now.
So I bought a second garden layout today (look who came to visit: Tama). All I have left to get before the next update is the last garden varition.
So I don’t know if everyone knows this already, but the official nekoatsume twitter page announced a new update with a new rare cat.

So I finally saved up enough gold and silver fish to buy everything in the shop. This is my current set up. I’ve tried to fill the Japanese style backyard with all the Japanese themed items they have. Marumayu came to visit again.
So I recently discovered this great blog: Wagashi Maniac - http://www.metmuseum.org/collection/the-collection-online/search/501802. It has a lot of great wagashi recipes, so you can make your own sweet Japanese treat. The wagashi in this picture is called Hyacinth Wagashi.
