Living in the vicinity of South Beach, FL means that you will see people living the most glamorous lifestyles. I find myself daydreaming of what it must be like to step out of my gold Bentley to board my multi-million dollar yacht. The insane condos, people dripping with jewels and general lifestyle for the richest of the rich in Miami all exude excess. I tend to get caught up in the “what if’s” that living in a place like this can perpetuate.

In order to capture the essence of this idea, for this series, I used gold and silver in the paintings contrasted by the deep magenta and purple hues.

I was recently asked to be part of the “Canes After Dark” experience at the University of Miami. This Pop-Up Art and Culture Exhibit is hosted by the Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE) to expose students at various colleges to local artists, music and culinary arts. The event was very well attended and I had the opportunity to talk with some of the students about my particular brand of abstract art as well as learn about some other local artists as well.
