Artists: what's your favorite medium for drawing?
Charcoal/Graphite/Pencils
Ink/Pens
Markers
Dry Erase Markers/Whiteboard Markers
Chalk
Pastels
Paint
Watercolor Paint
Colored Pencils
I use another traditional medium for drawing (comment your medium, please!)
I'm an artist but I don't usually draw traditionally (digital program[s])
I'm an artist but I don't usually draw (sculpture, collage/mixed media etc.)
A Seance, William Hope, c. 1920
Writers: would you switch to a different medium if you had all the resources/talent to do so,* or would you stick to writing?
I’d stick solely to writing
I’d dabble in other mediums, but I’d mainly stick to writing
I’d do a fairly even mix of writing and also other mediums
I’d primarily move to other mediums, but still do some writing
I’d solely move to other mediums and stop writing
I already dabble in other mediums but primarily write, and I’d continue to do so
I already do an even mix of writing and other mediums, and I’d continue to do so
I already work primarily in other mediums and write some, I’d continue to do so
Unsure / I have no idea
Other answer / it’s complicated
See results / I don’t write
*Like if you had all the resources and talent to express yourself through movies, painting, etc if you wanted to
The original meaning of 'media' in English was "visions, hallucinations, strange unreal imagery" - the term 'medium' as in a psychic comes from the same origin. If you use this original meaning of 'hallucinations', terms like 'mass media' and 'digital media' become oddly prescient in a haunting way.
