Sunset Indoors

Hewwo everybody, following up from my friends series, comes one of the looks I honestly fell in love with. The orange and white just fits so well with the cascading shadows and soft setting sun. So here's a series of my favourite pictures indoors!

🍒 The Bakery 🍒

We start our shoot at the bakery, surrounded by the tastiest of treats. Honestly, I could grab any of them right now and make a run for it. 🤤🤤🤤 But alas, I am an upstanding citizen, so I'll put it off for now.

🍒 The Office 🍒

Next we head to get some work done. Maybe file some, uh... reports? I have no idea what the people of Miraland get up to in here. Maybe they study monsters or something, who knows. I look like I had a hard day though hahaha.

🍒 The Nursery 🍒

Looking after plants isn't really what I'm good at, but it's what I have the most fun doing. I mean, what else can I ask for? The aroma is soothing, the tasks are calming and being surrounded by nature makes me feel like it's okay to be going slower than usual.

Well what a good day that was~ Now it's time to say goodbye. Off to the next shoot!

Aquarium Store Series

Hewwo everyone, today's inspiration comes from Fishstore between Florawish and Breezy Meadows. Welcome to my aquarium series!! I was honestly so excited when I saw this, because I wanted to shoot something like this old school MV. So let's hop into it~

Around 9pm, we teleport on over to the Leisureely Anglers Florawish Branch. There we see Karpa's store, and if we go ahead and turn NPCs off we'll get something like this down below.

🍒 Reflections 🍒

Now it's time to pose! Unfortunately, the fish tanks have solid wood backs so getting a see-through effect is impossible. I don't know if it's just me, but reflections off the tanks don't work as well. It sort of gives this double-image look, which just makes my head hurt.

But have no fear! Because of poses being able to clip through things, I managed to get a few shots like these below.

Yes, you're seeing those right, that's not reflections - It's me submerged under water 😭😭😭 It's not how I would like it but it get's the job done.

🍒 Wide shot🍒

Next, I wanted a shot of me walking around the store, showing off the fish. But I low-key look like I'm judging them 😏 heh. Despite that, I think adding the Warm Sun filter really gave it that 2000s retro look.

🍒 Costume Change🍒

Finally, I wanted to dress up as the owner of the store. (sorry Karpa) I went for a fisher boss lady ajumma kinda vibe. Let me know if I nailed it. Also, the poses from 1.5 are crazy, I can't believe it allowed me to lean against the tanks!

Photography in Darkness

Hewwo everybody, it's been awhile. I've been a bit burnt out with all the quests to organise my photos. But I'm finally back! I've decided to go by themes for my photos, and sorting them have been tiring, but fun!

Today's set are from the shots I took in pure darkness. Honestly these are great to highlight the outfits. So come on down with me to have a look at my favourite shots.

🍒 How to start taking pics in the dark 🍒

First step, is getting the right settings. With presets now, this is probably easier, but here are the settings that I use:

Lower Brightness, Shadows, Highlights to max negativity

Lighting Pane > Choose your light > Push it to the max

Increase the contrast, vignette and saturation to what you see fit

Next is finding a nice area where things shine in low light. One popular area being the blue tears which can be found in the campsite cavern. The glow from the water is beautiful.

But don't just stop there. Play with your outfits and poses to get a nice shape and look.

After this I went wild with, experimenting with different weather patterns...

Obstructing views...

And crafting a story using all the tips at my disposal.

I think that's what I find fun about taking pictures in the dark. The fact that the lighting, location and outfit is the centre of attention made me pay more attention to it. Til' next time!

Zen

Hewwo everybody, welcome to my Zen series~ I've decided to put together some of my favourite pieces. Starting with the cover image up there ^^ I truly love how the sky's gradient and the mountain's silhouette make this look like a wallpaper.

🍒 Inside the boat 🍒

After taking in the outdoors, I went for a trip inside the boat to complete my photo quest. Honestly this quest had one of the prettiest wood backdrop. The paintings in the wallpaper made me feel like I was in a garden and the paper lanterns gave a very homely vibe.

Well this wasn't what I had in mind when I meant outside the boat hahahhaa! Oh well, I guess it all works out. Taking this shot on the sea is a pretty good feeling. It left me feeling more calm rather than drenched. The reflections could be better though and the angle could be higher to include the whole boat.

Watch out below, your gurl be up in trees now hahahaha! 😛 But seriously, the rainbow flare came in so well on this shot.

Portraits

Hewwo, welcome to another series~ Today we'll be exploring some portraits I took. Les go!

🍒 Stardust Glam 🍒

A welcome look into my first portrait! This was taken in the wishing woods, at the Bizarre Wish Hills Warpspire next to all the gears. I love the subtle background; Not too simplistic but not something that overpowers the main subject.

In most cases, the subject is the highlight. So separating them from the background takes a lot of tweaking with lighting to find the right balance was a priority in this pic. Of course I want to show off all her shiny accessories as well!

🍒 Stardust Chic 🍒

Taken at the same location, is a picture of the character my friend designed previously. This time, I wanted the background to accentuate her dress. Some glitter on glitter action if you will 😉

I'm honestly in awe how much you can mess with the highlights and shadows to bring out the sparkle ✨ , it low-key looks like a cloth backdrop. Speaking of the cloth texture, this is actually blue powder sprinkling down. So if you want something similar, consider heading down there!

🍒 Biker Gal 🍒

I think you can tell how much I love this location. Honestly, it adds a bit of grit and cuteness at the same time. This time the background has more detail. With the gears and powder-ball-thingies visible.

There must have been some dust in the air as well, giving off a sort of orange smudge. I don't know about you, but all these subtle imperfections seem to ground these images in reality. Adding a bit of character and charm to them.

🍒 Moon Cat 🍒

Finally we move on from the hills to the sky! Sometimes the moon is all you need. Although there isn't one really visible here. 😅

I think what made me fall in love with this portrait was the bokeh effect. Somehow the blur on the bottom of the coat and the stars brings out the ethereal vibes of the image. Or maybe I'm just a fool for glitter. 🤪🤪🤪

🍒 Castle Queen 🍒

Sometimes all you need are some nice stained glass windows for the prefect vibe. This outfit felt pretty messy, but somehow the background actually helped save this portrait. I could be wearing a sack for all you know and it'll still turn out beautiful. 😭😭😭

This is one of the rare cases where the background actually saves the portrait.

Perspectives

Hewwo everybody, today I'll have some cute ideas on how to make your photos look more fun!

So I'm sure we're all familiar with the Nikki perspective quests. Although simple, they give a really good idea of how angles and timing can help create a photo you never could. Well without further ado, are some of my favourite ideas!

🍒 Flaming Wings 🍒

In the depths of the night of Fireworks Isle, there's a special firework show that triggers. It sends a blast of different types of fireworks, one of which is a series in a horizontal line right after another.

Moving towards the hill facing the small island where it's being set off is the one of the best locations to get some sparkly wings. And honestly it looks so cute 😭😭😭

🍒 Snow White 🍒

The plains of of the Wishing Woods are littered with crowned parrots. Oh what I would do to have them perched on my shoulder~

Luckily, standing just a bit in front of the critters would make it easy to line them up. And with just the right outfit, I've fulfilled my animal whispering dreams.

🍒 A Breath of Cranes 🍒

Hopping near the Dream Warehouse rooftop during the shooting stars, lit up the entire world like never before. That's when I had a quest triggered for a photo of the cranes. After completing that I noticed all the baby cranes floating around.

This honestly took many takes to get a good shot, so I'd recommend setting up your lighting and angle first before going in for the shot. After 5000000 tries, I've finally got the shot I wanted. Seems like a wish come true!

I got Dressed-up by my Friends!

Hewwo everybody, today I have a very special entry. I got a few of my friends to dress me up. Today, I'll be showcasing their fits with the best of my ability~

🍒 Frog Fairy by Sparkleeey 🍒

This was the piece that coined the idea of letting my friends dress me up. A green gal through and through, this look was inspired by my lack of clothes hahaha~ On another note, I remember scouting Florawish of the prefect place to take a pic.

And well, the leaf umbrella helped narrow it down quite a lot as you can see.

🍒A Mysterious Stranger by Carrotchop🍒

I think my friend just loved black and white hahahaha! But I low-key kind of like it. It gave me a very mysterious look, which is something different than the usual cutesy vibe I got going on. So in honour of that, I decided for a sunglasses in the dark kind of shoot.

This one gives me FBI vibes for real.

🍒 Traveling Diner by Moony 🍒

Along the shores emerges a chic but whimsical look...that was my idea of the shoot for this. In this case, it wasn't because of the look, but more for my friend's character.

She loves traveling and the sky, so I wanted to take something that really represented her. Also she's a film girly, so I decided to give it a more orange look for the old-school film roll vibes.

🍒 I Became a Villainess by EZ 🍒

With a scarf drapped over one shoulder, this look gave me power like I never felt before. I think that's probably why I went to follow the guide on tiktok on how to take the guard picture.

I hope this managed to pull out the fierce elegance I felt from this look.

🍒 Indie Star by WTDuck 🍒

This look surprised me the most. Even though all the outfits were mismatched it somehow looked like they belong together. Reminiscent of one of those funky fashion shows, I decided maybe a stained glass would help bring out the crazy of this look.

I hope I did all of these looks justice. And I welcome you all to try this too. I felt like I discovered something new about my friends through this, especially the non-gamers. It defo made for a fun conversation after they saw the pictures. Til next time!

Spooky Season 1

Hewwo everybody, this is a throwback to the previous season! Purple and black definitely was the vibe. Here is my lolita outfit, coupled with the flowers near the tower.

I remember going into an instance with some jump quests. Although I was hardly a fan, I took some snaps near the stained frames and flowers.

After awhile, I continued with the main quest, and chanced upon some of the cute lil' bears. I tried some perspective photography with and I gotta say, your girl be looking very high-res. 😎

I normally don't like taking cutscene photos since I couldn't frame them myself, but I really like the architecture too much to pass it up.

Finally, after all the quests were completed, I remember heading out of the castle walls and being entranced by the purple fog. I got inspired by Resident Evils' Dimitrescu. I tried to take a low angle shot to make myself look taller.

Hewwo everybody, welcome to another day in another week. <3 How's everyone doing today? I think I'm pretty chills this week. Today we're hanging out in Breezy Meadows! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Decided to do a pixie inspired shoot in the afternoon. I love how the purples match the wings. Honestly, going for very disney fairies vibe.

I also took my first group pic! I wish I knew how to add them as friends. 🥲🥲🥲 But yeah, decided to go with silver and a moon to match their red planet. I remember grinding so hard for that outfit hahahah!

⌛ 7 A.M. // 07:00 ⌛

After the night pic, I took a chill sunrise bike ride to the ruins! Gotta get them cardio in. 🚲

After that treacherous ride, I'm at the top! If only my make-up would stay in tact IRL too.

Hmm since I'm still new to this blog and have like...a gazillion pictures I'm thinking of the best way to organise it. Just wondering if I should show it chronologically or by theme?

I think for now, I'll do chronologically, but let me know if ya'll prefer one or the other!

🍒 Still Figuring Things Out 🍒

These shots were me just trying to get the framing right. No effects, no blur, just pure landscapes. 😇😇😇 Yeah, I figured pretty early that these pictures were not it, but I didn't know how to improve.

I soon decided to experiment with what was in the background, shifting things around, adjusting the position of the camera. I would say there's some improvement here! 👏

🍒 Testing Out Mid-shots 🍒

Finally, I experimented with mid-shots in this series. As you can see, the lighting is not good, but I finally found the aperture setting! 😭😭😭 Good job past me!!

I guess these posts are just there to highlight that we all start somewhere. No one is perfect at the beginning, and instead of fussing over my frustrations I actually enjoyed the experimentation process. There's a sense of adventure when searching for the right weird pose or the best mountain in the land. 🗻

This post a mini-graveyard 💐 to the images I managed to save out before I accidentally destroyed them all.

Storytime

So on the desktop, the pictures you took in Nikki are saved in your game folder. Which is uncommon btw! Usually, games would save your screenshots in another folder to prevent the very next thing that happened.

I re-installed my game. Simply because it was laggy, and boom. Anything that wasn't a snapshot was gone. 😭😭😭

I remember the 11 hours I tried every file recovery software known to man. Nothing could save it. At least 30 hours of story content and pictures were all lost to the wind. 🎈

Despite this, I actually continued to take more photos. Honestly, I thought I'd quit for reals. But I just love taking pics so much hahahaha 😅

So take care of your screenshots, and defo keep a back-up or send out your favourite pics!
