The Minolta XK-Motor is one of the most incredible cameras of its time. When I was a kid, I had the opportunity of playing with it at the local camera shop, and I was amazed by the beauty and the complexity of the beast.

Introduced in 1976, it had, like its predecessor the XK (aka X1 in Asia and XM in Europe) an electronic shutter (up to 1/2000s!), an aperture priority mode, interchangeable finders and focusing screens, all combined in a heavy-duty body. Something of an hybrid between a Nikon F (for the beauty) a Nikon F2 and a Nikon F3 (for the technical specs).

When I had a chance of buying a near-mint one last week, I did not think twice.

I recently acquired a nice ‘85 Summilux 35mm. Fits perfectly on both my M2 and my M6 bodies.

I bought a Minolta X1 a few days ago at Chuuko Box in Tokyo. It was my dream camera when I was younger. Even if mine is quite battered, it is still an amazing object and I am sure, a good photographic tool.
