Has anyone pointed out yet the difference in how Silent Salt speaks to the other beasts?
It seems that he’s much more aloof with Mystic Flour and Shadow Milk in particular.
Notice how he only talks about what Saint and Fount are like, whereas he speaks more about his personal experiences with Herald and Bringer — I know he doesn’t mention Bringer at all, but it still seems more personal relatively to how he speaks of Saint and Fount.
I feel like we don’t talk enough about how he used to battle alongside Herald as well; their friendship is so awfully unexplored, BURNING SPICE AS A CHARACTER IN GENERAL IS UNEXPLORED. It almost feels like whoever wrote the dialogue in the affection system is a different writing team from the one that wrote Beast Yeast. But I digress, this isn’t about him.
In battle, he also speaks more coldly to MFlour and SMilk, whereas he seems to be more open to conversation with BSpice and ESugar.
The same tone difference can also be seen in their in-kingdom conversations. He speaks much more curtly and dismissively with, again — MFlour and SMilk.
Screenshots will be in reblog.
I find it intriguing how he specifically dislikes the Beasts who suffered from the cruelty of cookies in the most direct ways. One would think that he would relate to them the most, but I suppose Solidarity is only meant to be shared with the weak. It’s Saint and Fount’s fault for not being able to connect with the cookies according to Salt, probably… and he probably blames them for the cookies betraying his knights.
