𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅 ╱ 𝒏𝒊𝒍𝒔' 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒓 : the person that nils feels he can run to in the rare moments where it feels like everything could finally come crumbling down , and vice versa ( though nils' ability to offer actual helpful support is sometimes ... questionable ) .
𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆 : thick as thieves ; both as bad as each other when it comes to taking ... absolutely nothing as seriously as it should be . can probably be found plastered on the front cover together ; arm in arm , dumbfounded smiles on their faces after doing something undoubtedly fucking STUPID .
𝒕𝒉𝒆 ? : their relationship , as the name suggests , is kinda just ??? neither of them really know where they stand with the other ; sometimes they get along , other times they can't really stand each other . i suppose a frenemy type deal of sorts , though nils doesn't really have it in him to call anyone his enemy .
𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 : somebody who nils is just ... entirely consumed by . whether it be romantic or simply a bro you're cool as FUCK kind of deal . he can't help but be intrigued by this person & wanting to be close to them in SOME way .
𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒆 : nils' first publication ( we don't speak of the second in this household ) was a huge hit ; but when your muse got their hands on it , something behind a particular poem sounded all too familiar . i'm thinking it was a hugely pretentious collection of love poems , varying from first loves to civil breakups to his biggest heartache : take your pick !

( ansel elgort , twenty five , & cismale ) who ? these days , it's all about nils ottosen , who comes from new york and is making headlines as an actor / author . he currently has a fan count of 40k , no thanks to rumors of them being tumultuous ! but , on the other hand , their most devout fans say they're actually munificent . last i heard , they caused quite a buzz when he trashed a michelin star restaurant in a wine - fuelled haze ! it's no wonder they remind me of lips stretched to bare pearly whites in a seemingly perpetual smile , a locked room filled with various smashed objects ━━ disappointment lingers in the air & caresses your feet in the form of balled note paper , & the reoccurring dawn of how the fuck did i get here and what do i do next ?

BACKGROUND
whenever family is brought up in conversation , it sends an instinctive chill down nils' spine . family has always been a touchy subject , reserved solely for times when he's had a little too much to drink & his words flow a little more freely . the truth is , as far as nils is concerned , the only family he has ever had is the family he has chosen for himself . biologically , he has a mother and father , of course . there's not too much to share on his mother - she passed away when he was young ; the addiction both herself and his father had harboured together , almost like a child in itself , eventually taking her life when nils was just under two years old . his father stuck around for a few months , before nils was passed on to his aunt and seemingly never thought of again .
although he will eternally be grateful to his adoptive mother , and often brings her along to award shows & book signings , their relationship has always been distant . the love was there , somewhere , but never spoken of . as a women with no children of her own , no partner , & very few friends - nils was everything she had dreamed of , but perhaps being faced with what you've always wanted can sometimes become more overwhelming than you'd imagined .
his acting career began almost as a means to an end ; nils needed money , and he had a talent - commercial acting turned to small gigs . his first big hit was his supporting role in carrie (2013) , followed shortly by the fault in our stars (2014) . his more recent accomplishments include baby driver (2017) & the goldfinch (2019) .
INTROSPECTION
based on first impressions , it would be difficult to detect that nils' life had begun so precariously . nils knows how to fit in , how to appear like everything is fine & dandy . he's rarely seen without a smile on his face - eternally happy . he's also easily grown accustomed to the life he now leads ; he doesn't throw his money around , per say , but he no longer feels the guilt when he drops a few thousand on a new shirt .
he's always been portrayed as the golden boy by the media ; a do-gooder , & somebody your children can look up to . more recently , the veil is slipping & it's left people wondering if he's beginning to crack under the limelight . he's become much more reckless & hedonistic , & it's starting to make people think .
he began writing a few years ago - something that started as a hobby , but developed into a way of raking in more cash . his first publication was a hit - his second a complete flop . the critics rinsed him , & it really messed with his head .
this got ... DEEP skkskdk but over all ? he's a happy go lucky guy who is a little over his head , but comes out of it all laughing n smiling n hoping .
