aizawa’s suspicious of the hero/safety commission, which means mic probably will be too, especially since he came up with the whole traitor theory thing, which means he’s not at all opposed to suspecting that things aren’t as they seem. also because he seems to listen to aizawa.
and aizawa’s kind of… honestly, aizawa’s a vigilante with a license.
he’s an underground hero who seems to fly under the bar of legality. we’ve seen that there’s rules as to how far heroes can take things and morals they should be held to, and then we have underground hero eraserhead who breaks limbs as an interrogation technique and constantly hangs out with vigilantes and semi-shady civilians and was once described in vigilantes as something like a bounty hunter
point is, aizawa doesn’t really play by the rules. because he’s (or WAS) so under the radar that he could really just do whatever the fuck he wanted.
underground heroes do seem to have different rules than the more popular heroes, because theyre not under complete scrutiny and work in the shadows. they seem to do the more “dirty work” rather than capturing and fighting flashy villains
so point established: aizawa’s a little bit of a renegade and a vigilante with a license. and really, mic’s not a whole lot better, especially with that whole “what if i just attack them” thing towards the media in the early chapters.
if aizawa’s suspicious, chances are mic is too.
aizawa’s eri’s caretaker, but it was talked about a little bit ago (can’t remember when exactly) that she’s sort of just “UA’s charge”, but Aizawa’s her actual caretaker. and from that one scene of all the teachers in their dorm watching endeavor on the TV, there was a little part about a different teacher stepping in when aizawa ran off, so it does seem like the others take care of her too. which means mic does, as well, and that’s backed up by that one panel in a collage where the three of them are together.
eri’s horn is growing and putting her in pain. aizawa’s the only one who can actually stop her quirk, since she doesn’t know how to turn it off, and the only thing we know that makes her horn shrink is using her quirk.
and then we also have someone who… for lack of a better term, is a reanimated corpse partially alive. who is mic and aizawa’s dead friend.
and there’s eri, with her caretaker being aizawa, and mic also being involved due to connection with aizawa and eri being taken care of by the teachers. eri, who can rewind people.
and aizawa, who doesn’t play by the rules, who’s suspicious of the safety commission, and who’s been beaten around by them for a while now. with mic, who is likely to agree.
i think from here, aizawa (and mic) are going to try to do some sort of investigation without the safety commission knowing, because if they think there’s something going on, aizawa’s not gonna let them know shit. and that’s probably gonna revolve around trying to help their partially dead friend.
and, well, there’s someone who could potentially take that partially dead friend back to an earlier state.
who just so happens to be the charge of the person who’s suspicious of the safety commission.
