When I finished this illustration today, I thought "Wow, that was fast!" Then I checked the time spent on it and... well, it still took 40 hours! 😅
I’m really happy with this piece! I feel it perfectly captures the dynamic between El and Astarion! I play on console, so I don't have access to those amazing photomode tools! Back when BG3 had just released, I really wanted to see Elfrida and Astarion represented like this, but I couldn't. So after some months I started drawing, trying to do it myself and this illustration really made that wish come true! 
Is it perfect? ​​Absolutely not, there’s still SO MUCH room for improvement! 
But today, I’m happy!🥹💕

Working on this project was quite an emotional experience for me! It depicts the very first kiss between Elfrida and Astarion. A bit of background: as a Drow, El fears the open sky, having never left the Underdark before. So, when a thunderstorm breaks out near the Grove, she feels a mix of curiosity and fear; as a storm sorceress, she has always been considered an aberration by her people. Witnessing her first real storm leaves her both intrigued and frightened. Astarion (her friend by this point of the story) accompanies her to the riverbank to watch the storm, wanting to show her that there can be beauty in it, just as there is in her own power. That is the moment they share their first kiss. I’m not usually a romantic person, but I have a heart too, and sometimes that inspires me to create things like this! I hope you like it! 💕😌

After 60+ hours, I am so happy to bring you here this illustration! It was such a challenge, as I started it from a simple gesture drawing made with mannequins (so no proper anatomy picture to take information from!) It started as an anatomy study, then it developed into something more complex! It caused me a burnout, I almost gave up one or two times, but now I am so happy with the result! Hope you like it as well! 💕
