Her ears fold and her heart sinks at his expression. “Wait we can still get it! We can get a loan, people get loans all the time we can get one and pay back little by little!” She urges on.

Tenter seems uncertain. “Ok? I don’t know loan. Nothing bad will happen?” He rests one hand on the datachron again. Reading the number. He’d never seen so much money on a price tag.

Tenter reworded his sign. “Have not experienced loan.” He squeezed her hands. “Nervous. Please be careful. I heard said, loan can be bad. Make you feel… ” He used a sign he made up on the spot, pointing his splayed fingers inward towards his heart, grimacing in an exaggerated way. He used a different sign. “Under pressure.”

“We can always borrow from Calean or Evalynn. Family won’t pressure as much.” Nina offered. She knew his parents wouldn’t have this Kk nod of money but Evalynn seemed to always have shiny things.

“Okay. Okay.” He gives her a thumbs up and then kisses her hands. “We’re going to make our house smart! I’m so happy you are my mate, Beautiful Flower.”

She makes a happy sound when her hands are kissed. "I'm happy to be your mate Handsome <3" she signed back. She wagged her tail. Eva always had plenty of shinies, Nina was confident she could loan some.

Tenter’s heart swelled with joy at the kiss. He signed, “Fire alarm. Stove is on alarm. Thief inside alarm. Light is on alarm.”

“We have a total of six lights in the house, one in your work shop.” She signs. “We should also get alarm for my shop too.”

“Yes, yes, yes, shop.” He nodded emphatically. His brow furrowed as thought harder. “Door open, knock on door, entrance lock-unlock.” He tried hard to figured out what else could happen.

He put one hand over his face and sighed loudly. “I wish for BEE alarm!” He’d been stung recently, out of nowhere. He wasn’t even sure by what. It certainly ruined his morning. He kept waiting for his arm to fall off and the rest of the swarm to find him and kill him with stings while he flailed helplessly.

Nina kissed him. “Me too!” She responds back. She jot down everything they discussed so far. “What else?”

Tenter keeps one hand on her forearm as she writes. But he can’t come up with anything else. He signs. “That’s all now.”

Nina adds them up, but then frowns. They weren’t very expensive individually but they sure did add up fast! She forward the list to Tenter’s chron, along with the prices and the installation cost for each one. 

“Maybe we should try doing it a little at a time.” She suggests after she sends it to his chron for him to see.

Tenter makes a contented noise. He takes a deep breath, enjoying her scent, her soft cheek. It was always too brief.

Nina bounces a bit in excitement. "We should make a list of all sensors we want and where. I think it be a good idea for light sensors in your work shop, so you can show people your work if you want."

Nina took a moment to just enjoy the hand massage. After when he gives his consent her ears jump right up. “Ok! Let me email you the details I found!” She snatches up her chrin and forwarded the pamphlet quick as lightning

He takes his time looking over the brochure on his datachron Braille attachment. It was so very rare for accessibility to be on the mind of anyone, but this… This was so promising he could understand why she was excited. “I like this. But how do we get it? Call for a quote?”

“We figure out what pieces to get, and buy them. Then we hire someone to install them!” Nina explains. Her tail wouldn’t stop wagging

Tenter’s smile fades. “Are you sure? This seems too complicated… Maybe hire professional. If we try… Maybe…” He mimes twisting a screwdriver and then getting and electric shock. “Your hair…” He makes a puffy face, holding his hands over his head.

Nina giggled then nuzzles. "Yes! This is very complicated we hire professional to install! My hair will be kept safe!"

Her excited tapping sent his ears up from their usual rest behind his head. For the house? His smile lifted in his face and he squeezed her hand. “What? What? What?” He asked, echoing her excitement and bouncing in his chair. “Tell me!”

She was bouncing too, how painful it was to wait all the way after dinner! It was just easier to talk to Tenter with their full attention on talking.

“We can make the house smart! To tell your data chron things like of the sink is over flowing, if someone is knocking on the door and if things are closed or open!”

“Ah!” Tenter’s gasped and grimaced with surprise and regret then his expression sank and he hung his head dramatically. “What did I do?”

“What?” Nina asked and blinked. “You did something?” She signed back.

Tenter’s took her hands. “I am extra extra careful to make sure door is closed, and faucet is off. I don’t want to make a mess! I thought I made a mistake!” He wipes his brow with relief.

"No no! You are amazing and careful!" She responds quickly. "But this help so you won't worry, and it can tell you if someone is knocking on our door, or if someone walked in your work shop and other things! :D"

Tenter slowly draws the lacquer brush down his creation, a carving of a dawngrazer with elaborate horns with further carvings in them. This little wonder had taken him weeks to carve out. He was very pleased with it which meant this piece would go for a couple dozen gold on the market.

Nina carefully walks up and observes his creation. She taps him on his shoulder to inform him of her presences, careful to wait so that he wasn’t actually carving when she did so.

Tenter’s head lifts and he carefully puts down the brush and carving. He holds out his hands towards the shoulder that was tapped to receive Nina’s signs.

“Pretty dawngazer <3” Nina signed into Tenter, then leaned forward and kissed his cheek. “What you want for dinner?”

Tenter’s tail gives a slow sway. He’d been working for a while, as he didn’t have a clear track of time, and his stomach suddenly gnawed at the thought of hot and delicious food.

“Simple and warm. Maybe soup.” He signed into her hands then raised them to his lips and kissed them, running his fingers affectionately over the familiar callouses.

Nina giggled slightly as he kissed her knuckles. It was just a happy random sound she made.

“Soup sound yum! We still have some of Mom’s bread too. :D” she signs back. “Today I met another vind named spit. No I didn’t make this one! His owner actually named him S P I T”

His hand gently squeezed her forearm as she signed to him. He huffled. He grinned as the joy of having her near him to share her stories gave him just as much, if not more joy than the stories themselves.

“Was it a good Vind? Naughty?”

"Oh very naughty! He sucked the balls from the play pen in his snout and shot them out! Slimy balls!"
