I guess when you’re changing the world you don’t waste a singe moment.

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting GL STRAND in Copenhagen and admire the collection of Kubrick’s pictures, scripts, cameras and film props from some of my favorite films. Needless to say, any Kubrick fan would be absolutely satisfied with the exhibits, pretty little dresses, typewriter and an ax from Shining, masks and dresses from Eyes Wide Shut, the baby and monkey costume from Space Odyssey 2001.

Leaving the exhibition, though, my mind was wrapped around the idea of such a brilliant mind leaving the world unfinished… It is outstanding to look at his preparations for the films he didn’t get to shoot, how much hard work he has done and left undone. They say the only thing he’d wish at the end of his life was that he have made more films. Now, we all know how long it took to film every single film of his, how many times he had repeated the scenes, driving his actors and coworkers insane, just to make it exactly the way he has imagined. He was a perfectionist, no doubt, and that is precisely why he has had such and influence on a film industry: cameras were invented just for the purposes of a single scene in Kubrick’s film.

Was it worth it, now I wonder, to use so much time for every film and end up running out of time for future films? If he was to be born again, would he do it any differently? What is that fulfill a human being, is it the quality or quantity? What do you think about Kubrick and his work?

Allow us to proudly present to you the very first edition of “Inspiring Change” project that is being realized as a two week residency for young artists and activists in the world of culture, taking place in Kusadasi (Turkey) from 6th to the 17th of November 2017.

This project is being created as a collaboration between non profit organisation Kulturno Mentalna Revolucija (Serbia) and non government organisation Displacement Parkour (Ireland). These two organisations have been realizing independent projects regarding art and culture, with focus on youth mobility and non formal and creative education.
