@nineteen-spades
My new favorite genre of picture is a very special thing that most animals (and humans!) do: face nuzzling as an act of greeting/comfort/intimacy. thank God that this is happening all over the world right now
Isn’t it wonderful?!
had to continue the compilation:

The Shortest Day. Words by Susan Cooper, illustrations by Carson Ellis.
🔸 I AM SEEN 🔸
Currently available to view via my exhibition “Shifting Bodies” at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery until January 14th 2024.
(little gallery display fact; Guiding Light of Truth to Self is chained above this piece)!
video description: A ceramic sculpture of a ruddy-brown furred canine bust, mouth agape, wire whiskers bristling, teeth bared in a snarl. Flowers, 3D and illustrated 2D wrap around its face, eyes fully concealed by the large, white blooms. A white star marking sits on the forehead. At the back of it’s throat, a set of human eyes peer back at you.

Why does having OCs hurt so much sometimes
Like, you are just little guys in my head get over yourselves
Run, wolf warrior, to ends eternal
Through the wreckage of the death of the day
Scent of silence under starlight spinning
A captured beast within a human skin
Are you searching for long lost landscapes
Lit by flowers and crystal cascades?
Where the lamb lies down with the lion
Where the wolf is one with the wild
Run, wolf warrior, through kingdoms' chaos
Senseless cities and ghost towns towering
Howl, o hunter, though few know you're crying
Face upturned into that midnight moon
Are you hunting for mystic mountains
Where the air is like liquid laughter?
Where the beasts inherit the earth
Where the last again will be first
After 146 days, the Writer's Strike has ended with a resounding success. Throughout constant attempts by the studios to threaten, gaslight, and otherwise divide the WGA, union members stood strong and kept fast in their demands. The result is a historic win guaranteeing not only pay increases and residual guarantees, but some of the first serious restrictions on the use of AI in a major industry.
This win is going to have a ripple effect not only throughout Hollywood but in all industries threatened by AI and wage reduction. Studio executives tried to insist that job replacement through AI is inevitable and wage increases for staff members is not financially viable. By refusing to give in for almost five long months, the writer's showed all of the US and frankly the world that that isn't true.
Organizing works. Unions work. Collective barging is how we bring about a better future for ourselves and the next generation, and the WGA proved that today. Congratulations, Writer's Guild of America. #WGAstrong!!!
its important to note that the strike isn't officially over, but the picketing has stopped for now and the deal they have is still being ratified. while we don't know all the specifics of the deal, the WGA did say (quote):
“We can say, with great pride, that this deal is exceptional – with meaningful gains and protections for writers in every sector of the membership."
with this in mind, the WGA is encouraging its picketers to join the line with the actor's union SAG-AFTRA, whose own strike is still ongoing and has been since mid july.
this is still a huge step towards worker's rights even though it's just the end of the picketing (for now). congrats to all members of the WGA for holding strong and continue your support for every other union still striking for better conditions!

Idk man it’s so easy to get bogged down in all the bullshit online but when my then-6 year old cousin found out I was trans he said “ok” then corrected my grandma when she misgendered me. I was once the third between a gay man and a lesbian. Two lesbians once invited me back to their place when I presented as a man. I met an AMAB nb butch who looked strikingly to outsiders like a cis man and it was one of the more sapphic experiences I’ve had. I nervously wore a boydyke shirt to pride and got 3 different cis-looking femme folks tell me they loved my shirt. I once told a trans group at a protest that any pronouns were fine for me and one person said “wow, I’m impressed and intimidated by people like that. I don’t know that I could be that chill with pronouns.” I once told a GNC friend I wished I could wear a type of “opposite” gender clothing after I had already transitioned and so it would be associated with my AGAB and he said “You could just do it.” I’ve had cishet men fight cops for me before. The first time I had a doctor ask me if my name was different than what was on my forms I had to try not to cry. Last week, a phone call with a doctor’s office where I am generally cis passing asked unprompted if my name listed is what I want to be called. It touched me then too. I told a lesbian friend once I felt like my attraction to men AND women both felt gay. She said “makes sense.” And we moved on. I go by different pronouns in different circles. I’ve had gay women love my facial hair. I’ve had gay men like my tits. It’s all out there, I promise. It can be hard to find it but I promise there is community like you and community who likes you. And it’s more messy and beautiful than tumblr discourse makes it out to be.
I think the amount of closeted and scared gays and interloping larpers are what make tumblr toxic at times, being queer is just cool as heck and queer respects queer
@canisalbus
I love and adore your doggos and your art style and how you play with colors, and they inspired me to do a draw! I know these two didn't meet as kids, but I couldn't help running with the what-if storybook vibe :D
The spirits will find the way https://twitter.com/natalie_corsair/status/1271854114046164997 UPD: added some more arts of them. The middle one is the oldest one. These are my OCs, a stag and a she-wolf. I drew them as a part of grieving when I was processing deaths in my family; they just happened one after another. I’m fine now, it’s just how it was back then
Grieving is different for everybody
