Opinion on season 4? (When you watch it/if you've watched it yet)

Mainly about Lloyd because I'm insane, crazy and deranged (this is very long)
IM OKAY WHERE DO I START.
Lloyd powers
First I LOVE how they explained Lloyd's power, how his connections to others makes him more powerful. BECAUSE IT MAKES SENSE, things like how he got the green ninja power wasn't because of the golden weapons but his friends, even his golden power, EVEN WHEN HE GOT REVIVED THAT ONE TIME IN SOG. I love it so much.
Also I was so concern they would put a full definition and limit to his powers, I actually wouldn't mind never knowing what his power even was, because I do agree it makes it more magical and special. SO IM SO GLAD THEY DIDN'T PUT IT IN A BOX, we still don't know what it fully is and I LOVE THAT.
AND OH MY GOD
KID LLOYD IS SUCH A LIL SHIT, I love that they brought the old VA back for the role, EVEN THE SONG THAT PLAYS IS KID LLOYD OLD THEME SONG OH MY GOODDD, this means the world to me. I WISH we had more time with kid Lloyd bc I JUST MISS HIM. He's just vagueposting and speaking in riddles which i find it really funny. I like how he just drops Lloyd in a hole by the end and laughs it off, HES SO EVIL

Older Lloyd is just as sarcastic as his younger self so this interection just makes so much sense and I'm so glad we get something light-hearted with them fighting and arguing before...
God, I'm tearing up just remembering this scene, I still don't know what to make of it. It's such a loaded question and a amazing goodbye to this version of Lloyd. This could imply a million things, is Lloyd not sure if he's happy so he needs to ask? Is he asking himself from a different path because he isn't fullfiled in his current one? or because he thinks he choose the wrong path? God I'm so stumped on this scene in paticular, I need to think about it a bit more because I don't know what to make of it, Its such a good scene too, genuinely one of my favorites this whole season.

ENEMY LLOYD DID NOT DISSAPOINT GOD I LOVE HOW SASSY HE IS. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. ENEMY LLOYD IN HIS SUPERIOR SHADE OF GREEN URGHHHHHHHHHHH
He is the manifestation of Lloyd worst insecurities and fears and its so damn interesting that Lloyd does think all of this about himself, That he thinks he's the real problem. And its kinda funny because people have talked for ages how Lloyd is to blame for like most of the villains in the series, and the thing is HE THINKS IT SO TOO.
You could never be a bigger Lloyd hater than Lloyd himself. Because even back in some books cof cof (The splinter in the blind man's eye) Lloyd remembers releasing the Serpentine and feels ashamed of it. While I think alot of villains can be traced back to Lloyd doing that, think also of the good the caused, we literally have a serpentine ON THE TEAM because Lloyd did that, the realms were saved because Lloyd angered the Source Dragons, he gets to be there because of that. But Lloyd only thinks about the bad sides, the bad things he has done, how much harm he has caused by doing that, even thought he didn't have any other choice.
But even then
Him overcoming this proves he has grown so much. A couple seasons ago Lloyd wouldn't have been able to even come close to going past those fears, or even look past his shortcomings. Had Lloyd done the trial any early he would've lost easily.
But this Lloyd has gone over this a million times.

Back in 2012 Lloyd Garmadon, lil baby kid Lloyd, had a BLOG. that's right a BLOG
And in this blog Lloyd talks more about his time on Darkleys. And there he mention his bully who was FINN.
I GENUINELY FREAKED OUT ABOUT THIS, AT THIS POINT I THINK I LOST MY MIND.
Remind you! this is the only ever mention of Finn, and this is back at 2012, FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. the site doesn't even exist anymore, THEY RANDOMLY CANONILIZED THIS CHARACTER. GOD I cannot believe they mention Finn I can't for the life of me. I've known this for ages, I genuinely screamed so hard when this happened, I'm sorry to my neighbours I really am.
THEY GENUINELY COULD'VE BRING UP ANYONE but the fact they knew who Finn was a brought him back especifically, it's such a crazy thing to me, this thing is ANCIENT, this is Ninjago Lore from more than a decade, that at best 5 people know. It means alot to me.

Such a important message. Of course Lloyd mistakes will forever weight on him but he has learnt alot too, he's ready to walk with those fears and become stronger thanks to them. I think i'm over explaining it but yea you get it LOL.
Now to this scene, I think based on the Sources Dragons say before this scene, Lloyd was close to dying here.

The roots helping the root that was demaged and making it grow again.
I think what Lloyd did was connect to his roots, the people in his life, and use those connections to come out of it stronger. If you think about it it's very similar to what happened in SOG, he's able to live by connecting with those in his life. ITS SO GOOD MAN I LOVE THAT.
dude. DUDE. THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVORITE NINJA POWER UP EVER. This just felt so deserved. IDK WHAT THEY ARE FEEDING THE ANIMATORS BUT I HOPE THEY ARE AT A BEACH RESORT RN BC OH MY GOD. The way Lloyd fights in this is so satifying I have no complains, the voice caught me a bit off guard but I don't hate it. I LOVE THAT HE FIGHTS LIKE A CAT, ITS SO FUN.

no nuance for the choices, elaborate in the tags. regularly means making an conscious effort to find and listen to songs in a different language of your own volition and not just letting them play on the radio/hearing them at work/other situations where you are not in control of the music
I've listened to English songs all my life, but I only learned the language when I was like, 10 years old; and while I do listen to both vocaloid and kpop, I also indulge in Japanese songs (mostly from anime), a few songs in Spanish, and I think that a specific one I like is Russian but I'm not sure.
As a little recommendation, there's this one from my childhood 💚
Something I've been thinking about, is that a lot of times we don't always react to things in the same way, even if the situation is similar, and that could explain a lot about Lloyd's interactions between Garmadon and Harumi in Crystalized.
With Harumi, he barely knew her for long when he realized she was the Quiet One, and thought he may have liked her, it was clear he didn't know who she was as a person, and then she "died" and he had no way of getting closure on what happened between them; so when she came back, there was the potential to fixing things, for her to heal, become better and actually live like a real person instead of living for vengeance.
Now Garmadon is his father, a man he admired since he was a child, who he saw at both his best and at his worst, someone that he hoped time and again would be better, and the last time he did it, he got beaten for it; at the end of the oni trilogy Garmadon left with no one knowing he was having doubts about his beliefs, there was no way for Lloyd to know he wasn't going after something as dangerous as his search for the Golden Weapons and the Dark Island all those years ago, so he couldn't keep hoping for him while dealing with everything else that was happening, especially while fearing being disappointed again.

I'm really proud of this project, though I wish to fix a few things next time, like the tail and the beak, and make it bigger (I want a huggable Perry, can you blame me?)

One moment Candace was trailing after her brothers, scrolling through her Instagram feed, a plastic container of homemade apple fritters for down-the-street neighbour Mrs. Pompoli under her arm. The next moment something large suddenly appeared in her peripheral vision, speeding fully into her view and coming to an oddly silent halt right beside Phineas and Ferb.
The van door slid open and a pair of arms reached out, snagging Phineas and Ferb by the necks of their shirts.
“Hey!”
Her voice was shrill and guttural. She lunged forwards, dropping the fritters, inserting herself partway into the vehicle just as the door attempted to slam shut. There was a sickening crunch as the edge of the door crushed into her hip, her vision briefly going black with agony.
“Let us go! Help! Help!”
Phineas’ cries penetrated her dense fog of pain. Candace breathed hard through her nose, harshly blinking back the tears stinging her eyes. There was a burly man pinning Phineas to his seat, a gleaming set of silver handcuffs attached to his wrists. A lankier man with a buzz cut was trying to wrangle Ferb into another set of handcuffs. The boy was thrashing so violently there was a genuine risk of him dislocating a joint.
A woman with a nose piercing, the last occupant of the back of the van, reached forwards, shoving her hand against Candace’s face. She hollered as the teen sank her teeth into the meat of her palm, and Candace spat out blood as Piercing recoiled back. She hauled herself fully into the vehicle, adrenaline overcoming the horrible pain spasming from her hip.
“Candace!” Phineas shouted.
“Get your hands off of my brothers!” Candace bellowed.
She reared her fist back, slamming it hard into Bulky’s nose. He cried out in surprise, stumbling back and knocking his head against the roof. Candace seized Phineas, wrapping her arm his middle and twisting towards Ferb. The alarm in his eyes was all the warning she got before something hard slammed against her skull.
The interior of the van spun as Candace slumped to the floor, a gasp choking past her lips. Something wet and warm trickled down her neck, and all she could see was darkness and tiny white stars.
“Get away from her!” Ferb roared as Piercing stalked towards his sister.
“Shut up!” snarled Piercing, cradling her mangled hand to her chest. “What do I do with this one? She’s not part of the plan.”
Crash!
The tinted back window exploded with a shower of glass. Phineas screwed his eyes shut as tiny pieces scratched at his face. He snapped them open when Ferb said in shock, “Perry?”
Surrounded by sparkling glass chips and wearing a 1940s fedora, his docile face twisted with fury, was their pet platypus.
Perry stood straight, his dark eyes blazing, his beak curled tight into a snarl. He sprang forwards, spinning in the air and smacking his tail against Buzzcut’s face. He dropped to the floor, nearly taking Ferb with him, but Perry pulled the boy out of the way.
“Perry?” Phineas croaked, blue eyes wide with disbelief. “Wh—what—?”
His words cut off as Bulky pressed his fist against his neck, narrowing his airways. “It’s him!” he barked to Piercing. “The one Boss warned us about!”
“How the hell did he find us so quickly?” Piercing demanded. She reached down, gripping Candace by the back of her red tank top, ignoring Perry’s hissing chatter. Candace wheezed as pain twisted through her hip and head, and she put out her hands as Piercing tossed her across the back of the van.
Warm, fuzzy paws caught her, lowering her slowly to the floor, and Candace stared into the distraught expression of her platypus. “Perry?” she mumbled. “What’s happening?”
Perry focussed on Phineas, who was a hair of a squeeze away from a full stranglehold. He chattered viciously, his paws forming into fists. His eyes darted between Piercing and Bulky. Ferb had scampered to Candace’s side, his cuffed hands doing their best to hold her.
He charged at Piercing, but at the last second, he spun and launched into a flying kick at Bulky. But before he made contact, something hot and sharp connected to his back, and all thoughts left his brain as an electric charge flared through his body.
This might be too ooc but imagine that movie lloyd and akita bicker a lot and have a similar dynamic in show with akita not knowing him as the son of garmadon OR the green ninja and when wu sees them hes reminded of koko and garm with the whole bickering but into eachother thing.
Lloyd in movie realisezss that akita is the only one he can be more bratty to and not be seen as evil and her teasing never hurts unlike everyone elses. Also akita has no concept of school so she has only negative opinions on it cause lloyd seems to hate it

I hate the Morro-Harumi comparison SO MUCH that I am making a full analysis of them and NONE OF YOU CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT MWAHAHAHAHA. I feel like this comparison lowkey disregards what makes each character so beautifully complex and masterfully written in their respective arcs.
“But they both hate Lloyd!” Morro doesn’t hate Lloyd, he hates whoever is the green ninja because he thought he was destined to be the green ninja. He would have hated anyone who was the green ninja regardless of it it were Lloyd, as seen when Nya pretended to be the green ninja. Harumi hates Lloyd because she holds him responsible for the Great Devourer Tragedy and the death of her parents. Harumi wants Lloyd specifically to suffer, Morro wants to be the Green Ninja.
morro is motivated by envy and a desperation for validation, while Harumi is motivated by spite, revenge, and malice.
there is one fundamental difference between the two I hardly see people discuss and that is that Morro LACKS agency in his story while Harumi has A LOT of agency up until the end of hers.
morro is taken in by Wu while being made of beleive he is going to be the green ninja, only to discover that that is not the case. He runs away, dies alone in a cave, and becomes a ghost in the cursed realm while being made to serve the Preeminent. He has to carry out her bidding and help summon her to the other realms. He doesn’t even enter Ninjago on his own, it’s Clouse opening a portal to the departed realm on season 4 that lets Morro into Ninjago. Morro spends Season 5 serving the Preeminent. He dies again being dragged into the water by her, symbolizing his even in death he lacks agency. Despite this, morro’s last act is that of agency, symbolizing the tragedy that Morro’s life was so far from his control that it wasn’t until he was about to basically cease to exist that he had a moment where he could control something
on the other hand, while Harumi couldn’t control the fates of her parents or becoming a princess and the pressures that came with it, she still held immense power in the form of leading the Sons of Garmaddon. She was in an extremely high place of power, she made all the plans while executing said plans. No one forced her to become a cult leader, no one forced her to kill her adoptive family, and no one forced her to embark on a quest to resurrect Garmaddon. Even when Garmaddon was an iron-fisted tyrant, Harumi was able to manipulate him into beleiving that he needed to kill Lloyd to gain his true potential and that she could be his daughter instead. Her death is symbolic of an absolutely chaotic loss of control where, in her final moments after saving a family that reminded her of her own, she was no longer able to meticulously plan and execute the outcome of what was to come. She couldn’t do anything but wait for the inevitable while realizing all that she had done has brought her to her death.
Are they both tragic characters? YES. are there parallels? ABSOLUTELY. However that doesn’t mean the characters are similar enough to compare in the way I see people doing so. Comparing Harumi to Morro completely ignores and disregards the complexity and intricacies of each character as well as the importance of what they mean for the characters. Hell, after fully analyzing them from this perspective, I think Harumi has more in common with The Preeminent than Morro
