“I don’t think it’d be rude; it’s not like I was invited,” Shadow counters with a shrug of his shoulders. “But... if you’re sure? It probably wouldn’t be a good idea to start with the one I was thinking of when I was humming, it’s the sixth movie, but I know another one that might be better for someone that isn’t as invested in the plot...?”

“With much complaining from Gordon. I think he’s over it… maybe,” Zamir said teasingly. “As for me… no, not really. I just got off work and was going to lie down, but since you’re here, is there something you wanted to do?”

“Nothing in particular,” Shadow answered, looking a little sheepish at being caught without much of a plan. “If you’d rather go do that, I can find something to do elsewhere.”

Guntram assumed it was due to Shadow’s ability to quite literally hide in the shadows, but even then, he would have thought their military security would have upgraded to the point they could detect it. He supposed alien technology was still out of their reach.

“I’m a little busy with inventory at the moment. Did you need something, Shadow?” he asked, knowing he was behaving far too professionally when addressing his brother. He supposed it was because of his being on duty, and it was a little hard to let go of.

“Some things are better off unknown,” Shadow said, staying in his perch and watching his brother curiously. “Besides, I couldn’t bother you if you figured it out. I’ve no intention of disturbing anything, and you need the company, so we’re better off leaving it be.”

He shrugged, then leaned back - no sense in making a nuisance of himself if Guntram really was busy. “Am I in your way? I can move elsewhere if you need, but... no, I was just in the area and thought I would say hello.” That wasn’t... entirely the truth, but it sounded far better than ‘I came all the way from home just to say hi’, which was the actual truth.

“I can wait until you’re finished to talk, if your inventory work’s pressing,” the ninja offered, since he had no intention of leaving any time soon regardless of how busy his brother was.

Well, that was new. Shadow Man wasn’t used to anyone being able to spy him out, with the obvious and ever-strange exception of Shade Man. That a human was able to do so was fascinating enough that he simply couldn’t be upset by it. A little embarrassed maybe, but not upset.

“Ah, sorry, sorry,” he said, making a jump from his hiding place and landing in front of the stranger, crimson optics only slightly redder than the flush on his cheeks. “I apologize if I bothered you. You caught my attention, and I’m used to observing before interacting.”
