Top: in the ending to Super Mario Sunshine, Bowser and Bowser Jr. are seen sitting on an object far off the coast of Isle Delfino. The object is never seen in full during the scene, with this frame showing the most of it.

Bottom: the object is actually Bowser’s bathtub that the final battle is fought on, but upside-down. During the intro to the battle, the camera zooms out and shows that the bottom of the bathtub has a pattern, color and semicircular shape that matches the object Bowser and Bowser Jr. are sitting on.

This implies that although in the ending of the battle, the bathtub merely turns over with no indication of falling, it did eventually fall into the sea together with Bowser and Bowser Jr.
