She was right. They wouldn’t get far if they didn’t stay smart. The only reason they had gotten out of the city in the first place was because of Sydney’s smarts. She helped Cole come up with the plan to steel Cole’s gang leader’s drug money before they left. The money that now kept them afloat. When Cole came to Sydney, telling her that he wanted out, he was desperate and hopeless. He had seen other guys try and get out of Scott’s gang, he had seen the beatings they took. Cole was convinced that he was stuck in his shit life, that was until Syd came int this life. The woman had changed everything fro him. He would do anything for her now. Shedding his jacket, Cole climbed back into bed, moving close to his girlfriend, wrapping his arms around her and resting his head on her chest. “I love you.” He said quietly. It was new to him, admitting his feelings for her out loud, but the night they fled the city he had confessed his love for her, and he felt like he still hadn’t sad it enough to show her how he really felt.
A soft smile spread across her lips as Cole climbed back into bed with her. She draped her arms around him, leaning down to plant a soft kiss to the top of his head. She couldn’t imagine being anywhere other than this cheap motel with him. Regardless of the danger of the situation, hopping from city to city with him still managed to seem like a holiday. “And I love you.” Syd nodded her head, before leaning back down against the pillows, thoughtlessly gliding her fingers through the male’s hair. “Listen, I know you don’t like the idea of my dad, but he might be able to help us out.” The girl brought her lower lip between her teeth, furrowing her brows together, she hated bringing it up, but it could prove to be really helpful. Her father owed her thousands to make up for all the bad holidays, abandonment, and neglect. He’d help without question, but she wasn’t entirely sure how he and Cole would get along.
