@nitch-biche
everytime I have to repeat my symptoms to a different doctor I feel like it’s a courtroom style cross analysis waiting for me to trip up
When ALL of my symptoms show up at once…
Migraine Masterpost
No one really knows what migraines are, or why they happen. But here are some things we DO know. And it’s always best to know, and listen to, your own body. Not everything here will be for you, and that’s okay. Take care of yourself as best you can.
If you all are migraine prone, here are some things that might be making it worse.
Anything in the onion family: onion, garlic, scallions, chives, and allium flowers. Please avoid ingesting these.
Tea. Most herbals are okay, but anything with the tea-leaf produces tannins, which you want to avoid.
Heavy exposure to artificial light. Especially blue light. Most phones and computers have a blue-light filter that’s easier on your eyes.
Lack of sleep. Pretty self-explanatory.
Citrus and citrus juices. Can and will hurt your head, the level of acid can be difficult to process.
High-stress environments. Again, pretty self-explanatory.
Mental health issue flare ups. These add an incredible amount of stress to your mind and body, which could act as a migraine trigger.
Strong scents, especially those that are artificial.
If you have a migraine, here are some things that might help.
Caffeine. Best from a SINGLE cup of coffee, or dark chocolate, or a soda.
A cold cloth/ice pack over your eyes, and a hot cloth/heating pad over the back of your neck.
A very soft scalp massage, work from your temples, around your ears, to the back of your head.
An anti-inflammatory medicine, Tylenol, Aleve, and Excedrin are coming to mind.
Bananas. It’s very weird, but bananas are a but of a cure-all when it comes to hurting. And they’re easy on your stomach if nausea is one of your symptoms.
Ginger. A nausea reducer, it’s very strong, so a candy or tea form might be better than eating it straight.
Foam ear plugs. Super cheap, and good sound mufflers, if you are okay with the feeling of them.
Heavy blankets. Sound and feeling mufflers, and temperature stabilizers. Very good things.
Sleep. Pretty self-explanatory.
I hope this helps you guys! And let me know if you all think of anything I missed.
“Quit letting your illnesses control you”
I literally hate this. So. Much.
FUCK YEAH I’M LETTING MY ILLNESS “CONTROL” ME.
If i dont listen to my body, then that means 99% going to get a flare up
That flare up could have me ended up in the hospital
Which also means I have to have a follow up with my doctor
Then that means they probably will give me tons of medication
Or
I have to have testing done, needles, scans, MRI, ect
If listening to my body means im letting it “control” me then so be it
mmmm, no, haven’t tried that one yet.
Not all headaches hurt the same — here’s how to know what type of pain you’re having

If you’re an introvert, follow us @introvertunites
I…don’t “act” like an extrovert. I’m perceived as an extrovert. I’m definitely an introvert and am still quiet even when things highly interest me, but I am highly talkative and energetic in certain situations. Doesn’t mean I’m “acting” extroverted. I’m just an introvert with a short burst of heavy energy
