Final Fantasy IX

*Physical or digital copy (as a PSone classic) seems to be roughly the same price.

First Memory: Hearing about how this would be a (at the time) modern take on the old school Final Fantasy formula.

Best Memory: The Battle of Alexandria.

Why Keep It?: It’s one of the better Final Fantsy games with possibly the best soundtrack in the FF series.

Best Music Track: Melodies of Life (Which also happens to be my favorite  vocal track from the series)

Magic Knight Rayearth

First Memory: Hearing the voice clips in the Game Boy game. Thought that was pretty cool.

Best Memory: ....see above.

Don’t have any other facts for this, cause I barely know anything about the game ^^; Sorry. Also, I can’t seem to find any footage of the game online.

Also, this is the last Game Boy game I have to post. So starting next Wednesday, it will be Game Boy Advance Wednesday.

Ms. Pac-Man

First Memory: Seeing my Dad play the NES port of this game.

Best Memory: Strange mode being more varied and more interesting than all the other modes.

Why Keep It?: It was one of the first games I experienced from beginning to end.

Wizards & Warriors II: Iron Sword

Purchase Price: <$5

Current Value: >$1

First Memory: Fabio on the cover.

Best Memory: Beating the game for the first time last month.

Why Keep It?: It’s one of those games I remember playing a lot when I was a kid. Sure it’s not THAT great of a game, but it’s great to me damn it!

Best Music Track: The first level theme.

Purchase Price: Got it as a Christmas present.

Current Value: >$59 (.....wow, that’s actually surprising. Though I guess you can get the game on more advanced systems for MUCH cheaper).

First Memory: Seeing a trailer for this on G4 I think.

Best Memory: The entire final battle and finale. It’s not just a battle, it’s an experience.

Why Keep It?: It’s one of the greatest adventure games ever released, and one of PS2′s greatest games overall.

Best Music: The Emperor of Eternal Darkness

First Memory: Seeing articles in magazines about how this would be the biggest, most ambitious game ever release.

Best Memory: SO moving in, and knowing I have access to this game.

Why Keep It?: I’m curious to see how large and ambitious (for its time) this game is.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

First Memory: Bring frustrated everytime Nintendo delayed this game.

Best Memory: The entire Forest Temple

Why Keep It?: Sure, there are better 3D Zelda titles. But for its time, this was an incredible game. Still one of my favorites to this day.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons

Purchase price: $20 for both

Current value: >$14 for both*

*Both games can be purchased on the 3DS Virtual Console.

First memory: Realizing that the dungeons in Seasons were very inspired by the NES Zelda dungeons.

Best memory: Beating Onox after SEVERAL tries.

Why keep it: Not as memorable as Link’s Awakening, but combined, it’s still an amazing Zelda experience.

Best music track: Chances are if you liked the Link’s Awakening music, you’ll like this one too.

First memory: THE COMBOOOOOOOOS

Best memory: Orchid’s finisher. And Orchid kicking everyone’s ass is legitimately canon too >D

Why keep it: It’s actually a fun fighting game, and it was a pretty decent console port too.

First Memory: Ehehehehe....

Best Memory: Actually finding a copy of this at the local game store.

Why keep it?: Saw the GameCenter CX episode featuring this game, loved it. Then I found this game and...well, I decided that I wanted to add it to my library. For shits and giggles.

First Memory: Seeing footage of this at E3 2004, and thinking this was the coolest racing game ever (at the time)

Best Memory: Anytime I play this game. It’s that fun.

Why Keep It?: I just said it XD It’s fun! There’s a lot of replay value, the game is insane, and it makes crashing into stuff the most exciting thing in the world.

Best Music Track: Eeeeeeh.......didn’t care for the soundtrack actually.
