“Here’s my answer to that. Nope~ That’s kinda like your signature nickname!” Ruby giggled as she tapped her finger against her cheek in amusement. “ Not calling you Ice Queen would be like Nora never eating Pancakes. Which is really never gonna happen.” She shrugged her shoulders as she watched the heiress take her time in deciding on a location for the match.
Ruby drummed her fingers against the pillar as she waited for Weiss to choose her location, a small part of her wanting to tease the other for not deciding on a location during the time she was away but she chose to keep that down. She did promise to be a little more mature and less childish in her antics after all, at least she hoped she was more mature compared to their first encounter.
Thinking back to how they first met, Ruby could almost laugh as how haphazard it was. Bumping into the one and only Weiss Schnee and sneezing her Dust in her face was not only embarrassing, she had also made a crater where they stood. She shuddered at the nickname that Jaune had given her because of that, ‘Crater Face’. Well, at least she got him back with his own nickname ‘ Vomit Boy’ .
Her reminiscing was broken when Weiss had addressed her finally, though a slight flush of the cheeks erupted when Weiss reminded her of her..slightly unorthodox ways. “H-Hey! It was just that one time! B-Besides, I’ve gotten better I promise!” Though, all that embarrassment went away the moment Weiss summoned her glyphs.
“How about a race? Last one there buys breakfast!” Putting her foot on the first glyph, Ruby looked back at the heiress with a challenging smile. “On the count of three, the both of us head to the veranda as fast as we can!” Holding up three fingers, Ruby positioned for her usual sprinting maneuver. “Ready….three!” No sooner had she spoke the word, she was off in a dash leaving only behind a trail of roses in her wake.
“Okay, so I’m still a little childish but hey, a race is a race!”
Taking the time to turn her head back and look towards Weiss, Ruby smirked as she pretended to look over the distance back at her partner. “Come on Weiss! You slowpoke, I’m already halfway there!”

And to Ruby’s insistent ways did she rub her temple with the ever present frown settling upon her features, a soft sigh escaping her lips as they too tilted up with a ghost of a smile. Perhaps Weiss ought to have anticipated such an answer to her reasonable protest, knowing how their team leader was stubborn to that certain degree. Call it an afterthought of sorts in regards of the rather ungracious nickname, causing the heiress to cross her arms over her chest still with said frown present upon her features.
Cue a skeptical raise of her eyebrow in regards to Ruby’s protest, before cobalt eyes flickered over to the sight of a certain someone’s large scythe that would certainly cause quite some damage if careless. Which lead to the fact that in hindsight, perhaps the veranda was not quite the best location with Ruby’s need to use Crescent Rose as her form of mobility most of the time. Hence that lead to Weiss making the decision of changing their location to somewhere more convenient.
❝ Ruby! I don’t trust you to not destroy the veranda, so let’s go down to the gardens instead. ❞ Myrtenaster in hand, all it took was a single movement to redirect the glyphs to lead them down to the general location of the gardens, strain beginning to catch up to her due to creating more than she ought to. After all, it was not as though she could dissipate the glyphs Ruby were using to ascend, which was the basic reason as to why exhalations were soon followed by inhalations softly-- a clear sign of over exertion.
❝ You need to get off the glyphs on the school building, Ruby! ❞ Upon closer observation it would have been clear that the heiress was straining herself to maintain such a large amount of glyphs at the same time, but to Ruby did she simply give a disapproving glare. ❝ Remember that I can drop you anytime if I want to! ❞ Fingers curled tightly around the handle of her trusted weapon and she quickly leaped onto the formed glyphs, making her way down over to the gardens before she turned to face the scythe wielder.
❝ .. Breakfast, hm? I would be kind enough to spare you from paying the expenses of my morning meal, but that wouldn’t be fair. ❞ Previous thoughts no longer haunting her for that moment, a smirk formed upon her lips in regards of accepting Ruby’s challenge, proceeding to descend down with the aid of her glyphs.
