Winter

The temperature drops and school gets overwhelming. Your desk has seen more late nights with you than your pillow can ever recall.

Slowly but surely your cheerfulness fades away, dissipating along the last rays of sunshine.

You long for a sense of control over something, anything.

Your collarbones begin to show.

You wake up in the dark and go to sleep in the dark. The faint, scarce sunlight never reaches you, since you’re trapped inside a classroom for eight hours.

Your skin gets whiter and your eyes heavier. The school year begins to seem endless.

The cold begins to be your comfort, and you start to seek that darkness. You hide and thrive in it. Long night walks with your thick black coat that covers you all the way up to your eyes as the relentless cold wind strikes once again.

Your stomach growls once more. And once more it will remain ignored.
