I have this headcanon of the nephilim being nocturnal beings by nature due to their line of work hence their nicknames being "Shadowhunters" and whenever they are seen out in the day by other downworlders they never help their own case or image because 9 out of 10 times they were probably on call and pulled out of bed to deal with an issue at 11am after only 3 hours of sleep and were equally grumpy and the sun hurt their eyes.

And when Magnus and Alec started dating, even though Magnus was a morning person, he adapted to having a little raccoon slinking into their bedroom in the early hours of the morning and not long after bought blackout curtains and spelled the room to be noise cancelling (multi-beneficial) as to not disturb his sleeping partner once he had gotten up and ready for the day.

But it also led to a lot of morning cuddles, the fruit basket in the kitchen consistently being filled with unlimited oranges, and clients seeing a tattooed man half awake with bed hair sipping on coffee in the living room at 4 in the afternoon on their way out of the loft.

Malec's morning cuddle-time is sacred.

Everyone at the Institute quickly learns that the hour after Alec goes off shift, you do not call him, you do not text him, you do not breathe a single word of anything that hints at needing his attention. Even the most junior Shadowhunter learns that it will go far better for them to wake Alec up in the deepest dregs of his sleep cycle a few hours later than to interrupt the hour he first gets home to Magnus.

That is Alec and Magnus' time together, right as Alec is coming in from patrol and right before Magnus has to get up and dress for the day.

It's the time for Alec to strip off both his leathers and the weight of responsibility, time to slip underneath silken covers and nuzzle into the nape of a warm and sleep-tousled warlock. Time for Alec to tell Magnus about his night and hear about Magnus' plans for his morning. Time for the two of them to curl into each other and breathe each other's air, time for Magnus to press his boy into the mattress and reassure himself that Alec is hale and whole in Magnus' lair after a night hunting demons.

Knowing his darling, nocturnal Shadowhunter is tucked safely away in his bed settles something deep in Magnus' soul as he gets up and gets dressed, Alec watching him sleepily while drifting off into the land of Nod.

Going based off of SHTV Lightwoods

The Lightwoods are Latino on their Trueblood side. Maryse and Robert raised Izzy and Alec as 2P2L (2 Parents, 2 Languages) with Maryse speaking Spanish and Robert, English. By the time Max was born, the two had become too busy to continue the style.

Because of this Alec and Izzy are bilingual. Izzy obviously more outward about it, typically speaking Spanglish around the institute and when going out.

Alec on the other hand is more conservative with it, using it in private with his mother or Izzy. But you can also find him reverting to the language whenever he is frustrated or angry. Everyone in the institute knows that the moment you hear Alec Lightwood speaking Spanish- you walk in the other direction.

When Magnus found out that Alec did his mandatory semester abroad in Buenos Aires while at the Shadowhunter Academy, he demanded that they have their next date night there.

And sure, when they got there, Magnus expected his boyfriend to have some semblance of understanding the language, if not from his study abroad then from his sister & mother. What he did not expect was for Alec to bust out into fluent Spanish, conversing with their waiter, shop owners, and locals casually and freely.

And yeah, it made sense in retrospect, but it also made Magnus feel a lot of other ways in which he would not disclose...out loud...publicly at least.

He decided then that they would be doing MANY more date nights in Latin America.

“Harlivy are lesbians, Joker literally abused Harley and Jason literally abused Ivy, there was no love there” I see where you’re coming from since Jarley and JasonIvy are horrid and disgusting abuse, however 1) Harlivy are bisexuals so at the very most you could only say “I wish they were lesbians instead” or “I don’t like how the writers wrote them” (mind you there’s biphobia in both of these statements too… but at least you won’t be just entirely incorrect and going off canon) and,

2) You are… forgetting a very pivotal part of abuse. That some, if not most victims often love and are attracted to and care about their abuser and cannot imagine why at all the person they adore wants to hurt them. It becomes a vicious cycle of hoping they will become better for you and they never will. By saying that Harlivy are lesbians and not bisexuals bc they “chose” to be in unsafe situations, you are beginning to add to the narrative that bi women “deserve what they have coming”. Bisexual women have higher domestic violence, abuse, and sexual assault rates than straight women and lesbians, so saying that Harlivy can’t be bi bc they have been abused is like saying that calicos can’t be felines because they’re cats. and,

3. Jarley and JasonIvy aside since they’re abusive, what about these absolute malewifes? Scrunguses who would take their bi girls to pride. They’d watch Barbie with their gf’s and rob a bank to pay for their manicures. They would give Harley and Ivy lemon bars and kittens. Look at them. In the disastrous case that Harley and Ivy somehow don’t end up together, it would be cute to imagine they had these supportive bf’s in another life. and,

4. The idea that two women who escaped shitty men and blossomed a relationship with one another can only be a story for lesbian characters is a very monosexist take for… no good reason to be honest. Harlivy can still be super wlw super sapphic, the girlfriends to ever girlfriends, and still be bisexual. Their bisexuality isn’t stoping anything.

Bringing back this AU concept i thought of a long while back where Alec loses his memories at the end of the Shadowhunters TV universe instead of Clary as punishment for not only summoning a Prince of Hell but wagering deals with one or whatever idk I didn't get that far but ANYWAYS.

Him living with his mom and going to college while working at a cute coffee shop / wearing a pride pin on his apron and Magnus being his favorite customer because he always tips him really well :(

And wait over time he’d develop a crush on Magnus but like he doesn’t want to say anything because the man is a customer and he’s obviously married by the looks of the wedding ring on his finger :((

He likes Friday night shifts because that’s open mic night and there’s this band called Rock Solid Panda that plays and they sound ok plus the singer’s friend had really weird tattoos that Alec just can’t seem to wrap his head around :(((

And the lead singer's girlfriend once called him hermano when he came to clean up their dishes after a show and now his coworkers tease him about it, but strangely, she does sort of look like him :((((

Sometimes him and his classmates go to this bar after a really hard exam and the bartender is nice and funny and they like to share complaints about annoying customers they had both dealt with that week but he feels bad for her because she has a big scar on her neck :(((((

And he’s not really the religious type but his mom insist they go to church some nights, and there’s this new pastor there, he seems young but he’s good, in fact sometimes if he looks over his shoulder he thinks he sees a man that looks like Magnus standing in the back, he looks proud??

Also he likes to donate blood at the local hospital sometimes, the nurse there is really sweet, he asks her about the drawings pinned on her station wall, she smiles softly and tells him her daughter drew them. But why do one of the men in the drawings look like him :(((((

Oh and some nights when he’s drowning in homework his mom’s boyfriend comes by and brings Chinese food, Alec really likes it and asks Luke to show him a menu for the next time he wants to order it, but, that’s a strange name for lo mein, and what are seelie kelp noodles?

He typically works the closing shifts at work, he tends to prefer the night shifts because they are slower and he can focus on his school load, he loved being a public policy major but god was there a lot of reading. He heard about a study method that included scribbling on a piece of paper while he read. One time, he was locked in on chapter when he heard the front door chime and in walked a tall blonde man in a leather jacket, when he greeted the man he looked downright nauseous, which, Alec wasn't sure what was to be said about his own appearance in that moment. The man ordered a black coffee to go but avoided eye contact with him which confused Alec even more, but nonetheless he turned to the coffee maker and began to pour him a cup.

It was when he turned back to hand him the cup, when things got weird. The other man was staring intensely at his notebook, thinking he was probably confused by the random scribbles he went to explain when he realized the page was indeed not filled with random scribbles but rather the same scribble over and over again.

The man left before Alec could say anything more, leaving him with the cup of coffee. But something changed in that moment, seeing the unintentional drawing, its resemblance to the tattoos he had seen all around him but this one specifically not being one he had seen on any of his customers, coupled with this strange man who, if Alec was completely honest, felt like someone he knew deeply, maybe in this life or another.

So strange, definitely a story to tell his mom once he got home.
