My ideal space. A rich space of the natural world created by "irregular shapes" of trees and leaves rustling in the wind, fog floating through the air, cherry blossom petals dancing in the sky, mass of clouds in the blue sky, towering rocks and cliffs, and so on, all standing in the midst of a vague space. Such vaguely shaped entities envelop people, create holes, draw paths to walk, and create a comfortable space for people.

The concept of my design works
Delicate light. A mist that receives light.
I would like to create a place where you can feel the presence of the air filled with haze and fog through artwork that seems to dance in the air. I also hope that the artwork will be as beautiful a shape as the flow of water and air. I try to design artwork that creates such a space through sculptural shape composed of primitive elements such as points, lines, and surfaces.
This is because the beauty of Japanese space is created by the shades of shadows created by the ephemeral and weak light. It is also the Japanese sense of beauty in space, as discussed by Junichiro Tanizaki in his “In Praise of Shadows”. This means that I am not designing for the purpose of manipulating the shape itself, but for the effect that the shape will have by manipulating the shape. I aim to design spatial works in such a way.
“Lines” that fill the space.
A hazy, misty existence created by countless “lines”. A “line” with a Japanese beauty that absorbs softly rather than repelling light strongly. The delicate artwork touches the light and vaguely depicts the appearance of the light to reveal the existence of the air that fills the space.
This is an art studio for Kazunobu Nakamura to create design. The studio that designs spaces such as installation design and interior design. If you are interested in the art space I design, please contact me.
