the bad...and the good

I am sorry for the sudden hiatus last year. ; u; I’ve decided it’s time to make amends and get my head back in the game.

I’ve been quite busy for a while and although @akarinchii told me to come back a few months ago, I wasn’t ready yet--I was lazier than usual, and I didn’t have enough motivation to make artworks worth posting so I never did.

Until now, I am deeply sorry for disappointing you guys. It’s been so long and now I’m finally back on track. 

The news is, I don’t think I should be using this account any further. I know time has healed me for a bit, but I feel bad whenever I see my previous artworks. It reminds me of the fact that I was never able to do anything for my bestfriend’s eventual death. It had a great impact on me, and for that matter, I’ve made a decision to settle on a choice--one that, I think, might help me move on from the loss.

Oh, but that doesn’t mean I’ll be gone. :)

It is named after her nickname (which she fondly treasures because of hamsters) “hammy”. Just added the saurus because I though it sounded cute (idk maybe people may find it odd though?) Still, I’ll be using hammy as a nickname to reminisce her as well, please don’t mind. :)

Intended to post this a while ago but then..ughhhh the app is so unreliable ;___; so I resorted to chrome.. MUAHAHAHAHA. I'm sorry I've been inactive the past few days, I've been coping up with my best friend's death and it has been a really difficult time for me.. also, I wanted to make and post Atla fanarts for the 12 days of Christmas but then I inadvertently caught a fever and it's been bugging me until now... ;-; ...aaaand... *drumroll* I've been working on an original comic, I've always been a fan of webcomics so I decided to try and make one, though I doubt I'll be finishing the first chapter or the intro earlier than expected ; u; but I hope I'll be able to deliver and draw it the way I intend it to be drawn, it's my tribute to her ; u; My best regards to everyone, let us sleep, get lots of rest since it's Christmas break yayyyy and do requirements if you happen to have some (some professors won't let it rest, do they..? Airbenders are pretty much the most powerful benders. A firebender has to create fire. A waterbender is most powerful on the open seas as much as an earthbender is on land. But air is literally everywhere.

The Air Nomads weren’t dangerous because they chose not to be.

While I agree that Airbenders do have a lot of power at their exposure, they aren’t the only ones.

Waterbenders can bend any type of fluid containing water, even blood inside the human body! That’s pretty fucking metal.

They can also take the water vapor out of the air, use their own sweat or even drain the water out of every living thing nearby. 

Imagine that ^^ happening to a person..

Next we have fire, the element of destruction. Like Airbenders, they can use the air around them, and transfer it into energy. Firebenders can bend or generate anything fire/ heat related.  That means lightning, flames, or extreme heat that has the potential to shape its environment (such as melt molten rock and metal.) Even fire breath!

Next we have Earth. Earthbenders can bend anything related or comprised of Earth, such as metal, rock, dirt, sand, etc. EVEN LAVA. Anything mineral related? You got it. Admittedly, minerals- although extremely easy to come by, are not as present as water or air. But there sure is enough to make use of, and we can’t say Earthbenders aren’t powerful!

Not only are they powerful, but they are also graceful. 

And I mean look at this! Avatar Kyoshi Earthbends a freaking continent in HALF!

It’s bad enough the comics already have lazy writing in some parts… *Coughs* Rainbow Fire. How are you going to be fine with a lazy arc like a “heroic sacrifice”, yet bitch and whine because the “heroes” are hardly making appearances because the spotlight is more on the deuteragonist?

Of course there will probably only be a quick and cheap arc for Azula, seeming they won’t spend their time making her own series like they already have with “Zuzu”… The fandom outside the Blue Lotus really piss me off!

Agreed. She needs a different redemption arc that Zuko because her connection to the Fire Nation was intellectual rather than emotion, ie she connected to the ideas. For Zuko it was all about his honor and his emotional disconnect with his father. For Azula she thinks the ideals of the Fire Nation are valid. Yes she is wrong. But once you convince her of that her nature will make her a strong advocate for peace, harmony etc. on an intellectual basis. It is SMARTER rather than KINDER to live in a world where people aren’t always seeking to be top dog and where birth doesn’t dictate your final destiny, and where there is always a fight to retain that position. Frankly I don’t see either Zuko or Izumi being that good of Fire Lords, or moral people, considering what we see in LOK. I doubt if she will ever be as easily loved and forgiven as Zuko, but she would be a master at whatever she put her mind to. I don’t see why a redemption arc couldn’t see her as a world leader in some intellectual rather than political based system. In many ways it can be more lasting. Past leaders, Kings and Queens, Emperors etc. get mixed up in people’s mind, forgotten despite how great they were at a particular time, lose their standing etc. But if you contribute to science, math, art, music, more people know you on a global level. Even if you aren’t world famous because your area of expertise is so narrow, those who are most concerned with that area will know you for many generations. Science. History. Linguistics. Art. All these are areas where she could excel that have nothing to do with Zuko and wouldn’t diminish what remains of his, imho, tattered honor. Sorry, can’t get over what he did to the four. Inhumane at its finest.

When I typed that in italics, I was being sarcastic because this is how some people think. I get they don’t like her, but it gets me how they don’t complain about lazy writing if it has nothing to do with their faves.

I like Zuko, but Azula will always be better. Even I see how lazy the writing’s been with him and he’s suppose to be the deuteragonist… I have to remember that people only want to read about “heroes” and stupid love triangles, but that’s none of my business…

Yang is basically writing a “fan-love” fic and it is weird.

I’ve said this many times before and I’ll say it again.

I love Azula and hate seeing what Yang has done with her character, worry about what he will do.

But for the love of writing why would he make Zuko, the character he most identifies with, seem like such an uncaring, fool?

Even in Smoke and Shadows, consider. He tells his mother that “I looked for Azula” and because he couldn’t find her  it meant she didn’t want to be found? 

I do understand his comforting mom but seriously? Maybe she severely injured, killed, left the forest, or he being one person kept looking in the wrong area? The water twins kept failing to meet up with the Mother of All Faces, despite having a limited area to find her in and despite the fact that had they stayed in one place SHE would have come to HIM.

Why not find June. Somehow he got a boat to take everyone home, why not send someone to get June and her acute smelling beast to find his sister?

I’d send him to the Wizard to get a brain but the whole point of the Scarecrow was he already HAD a brain, he just didn’t believe in his own abilities.

While Zuko shows a serious inability to think.

I have in my head this running scenario of intelligent ATLA world meets canon ATLA world and they end up stopping every other story at least with No. That couldn’t happen, and here’s why.

June seems to be a forgotten character and that isn’t acceptable! I guess they would make it too easy to find Azula if she was in it. Nyla’s scenses weren’t completely perfect because Aang couldn’t be found. Azula could’ve wandered off into an unknown spirit portal. Who says the poles are the only portals? There could be smaller anomalies that are hidden to their world.

I guess he can make Zuko how he wants and everyone is going to be happy with it because “good always prevails” in the end.

I’m really not looking forward to the next installment… -_- Hopefully all my doubting will be for nothing, then I may decide to read it.
