Don’t hate me please
Unpopular opinion time and don’t get me wrong I’m an Army, BTS actually sucked me into this whole thing lol… but I’m finding in Western media …pretty much all any one cares about when Kpop is brought up is BTS. Even lots of “Kpop Stans” are usually … just BTS fans.
Now I get that they’re rediculously popular, but they’re not the only act in town, you know. Tons of other great groups exist, boy girl and co-ed alike. I’m really sad that more Korean acts don’t get as much recognition in the Western world. BTS may have gotten lucky and hit it huge over here in North America, but they’re not it, you know?
We’ve got groups like Nu'est (W) who are hugely underrated and overlooked. We have senior groups like VIXX, Girls Generation and SHINee, there’s GOT7, Astro, Winner, Blackpink, Day6, Seventeen, f(x), Stray Kids… even brand new groups like ONEUS and countless others that put out incredibly good content but get pushed aside because “omg everything BTS” .
Yes BTS is very talented and 100% deserve the recognition and fame they’ve worked so hard to get, but so do these other groups.
•Disclaimer• I do not speak for all fans, this is just my inner thoughts and I just want to reiterate I am a fan of BTS and a loyal Jimin Stan. I would give my left arm to see them in concert. This was just something I felt I needed to share. Thank you.
Wow I am not an army, but I agree with you on all counts. And it's good that it says an army .
