The internet would be a better place if antis redirected their anger into the exploitative nature of true crime influencers who profit off of victim shaming REAL people who have been murdered and raped under the guise of “spreading awareness” instead of focusing on “protecting” fictional characters.

Imagine being brutally murdered only for some idiot on the internet to exploit your death, victim blame you and focus more on your killer than you while having a fucking mukbang and speaking in heavily sanitised terms like “she was unalived by a pew pew” because apparently losing beloved revenue and sponsorship is more important than you’re me fucking murder. all the while the comment sections of said video are filled with edge lords who glaze your killer, have more sympathy for said killer than you, call your death “boring” because it wasn’t “gruesome” enough and talk about you as if you were some fictional character.

Then they say that true crime isn’t exploitative because it’s “spreading awareness” and they don’t want to admit that they’re favourite YouTuber may be an exploitative money hungry person.

Take away all pro ship hate and give it to those exploitative overglazed true crime YouTubers.

Apparently exploring controversial themes in fiction is “problematic” but exploiting and making money off of real people who have been brutally raped and murdered is okay?
