daryl’s not the least bit surprised that the other is laughing. honestly, it’s almost like he’d expected it. lips purse and thin into a line for a moment, a single brow lofting. and then there’s a grin that speaks nothing but trouble, and daryl is more uncertain about this guy.
the hair — it catches daryl off-guard for a brief moment. it’s bright as hell, and he’s never seen anyone with hair so… unique. fingers shift their grip on the crossbow, blues flickering over the redhead’s face and then to the gloved hands that are raised in the air. daryl’s used to defusing tense situations — and he narrows his eyes a bit. perhaps he can cajole the other into grouping up, for the time being.
”gotta question ‘fore i decide whether ‘r not t’shoot ya. what’re ya doin’ here?”
Axel's been in many a staredown with his coworker Xigbar before-- he doesn't back down easy. He's still staring at the archer when he's asked the question, and instead of laughing again he just purses his lips, straightening up a bit.
"I'd prefer if you'd decide not to shoot me before I explain myself-- it's a long story and as much as having an arrow through my skull wouldn't bother me, I really don't feel like it'll help either of us at all."
He sees a walker coming up behind the man, he quickly lunges forward, pushing him out of the way-- he's silently hoping that he doesn't get shot in the process. With a flash of flame and black-and-white vines, along with the sound of steel, one of his chakrams appears in his hand, just in time for him to swing it up and get it through the corpse's head.
He's panting a bit when the undead is laying on the ground, but he doesn't let the chakram dissipate-- he figures it'll get a bit of the message across. He glances over his shoulder and gives Daryl a slight smile. "Told you it was a long story...."
