I wonder how long images live—or more accurately, how long they hit us in the gut—in this age of data abundance, of flooded archives
Seeing Things – The New Inquiry (via nathanjurgenson)
...found this old project I did in my first semester at Parsons. It was the first thing I did with html/css and javascript and the code and use of all the JS plugins is so naive. The sense of place, my presence, through -the -magnifying -glass attention to details, reminded me how exciting the city was for me at first glance.

Algo Lights
Collaboration with Catalina Cortazar.
We used six TLC5940 chips and created a paper stripe of 96 LEDs. Connected to an aruduino board, the LEDs respond to different openframeworks drawing tools or particle systems apps. Drawing on the one-pixel horizontal line is immediately translated into the LED stripe, creating a dynamic spectacle of lights.
This project is our final for Algorithmic Animation class taught by Zach Lieberman, Parsons, and MFADT

My brother Amit is the founder and director of Meitar Ensemble. Playing since 2004, Meitar has established itself as a significant contributor to the development of Israeli culture and music. Supporting that, I’ve been designing their posters since day one.
For the last year, for each event I’ve been writing a drawing tool app in openframeworks. Using the app, I then create an image, and export it as a high resolution file.

"Hi, How Are You?" is a reissue of a homemade cassette Daniel Johnston made in 1983. In the spirit of his Walking the Cow track, and his cover design, I've created a drawing-multi-recorder app.
Daniel johnston - Walking the Cow
I’ve been listening to Daniel Johnston lately. For those who don’t know, he had the album: Hi, How Are You. - The music haunts your ears with an uninvited joy. Lyrics of Big Business Monkey really reach into the soul of my graphic designer-y side. The lines “And everything you do will be forgot By everyone you ever tried to impress” teases me to try harder. At the same time, there are days when I feel so intimated to sit in from of my blank sketchbook.
More importantly the cover too seems like it was ripped from my brain or sketch book. The strange part is this album was made before I event existed. 5 years before I was welcomed into this world, this album seemed to articulate the idea of how I perceive myself.
…. thoughts are to be continued in a later post. Until then I’ll listen to more music.
