First Date || Puckurt
Kurt smiled politely at Puck. He couldn’t say he knew an awful lot about marketing, but it was interesting. In a way, it wasn’t that different to his career. It was all about using the right words, and as he thought of something to reply with, Kurt hoped that he’d chosen the right words to say, and it wouldn’t be too much. “I’m sure you’re already awesome at any campaign you do. I mean, so far I’m already sold.” It was a delicate balance between appearing very much interested, but not too much that it was suffocating, and Kurt felt he’d just achieved that.
"I like optimistic," Kurt said with a warm smile. He’d been worried that he’d struggle with conversation with Puck as he wasn’t interested in him himself, but he was surprised that despite a bump or two at first, it was coming very easily to him, which would bode well for the future. He chuckled at the musicals comment, and listened intently to what Puck was saying as he took another sip of his drink. He returned with a fake gasp of his own. "You? Rock concerts? I’d never have pegged you for being into that type of thing." Of course, people could be surprising but with the guitar and the motorcycle, it was a fairly logical assumption. "I’ll have to bear that in mind for next time, then."
And Kurt did indeed make a mental note of that. One of the potential items on his list was to force said “boyfriend” to go somewhere that would be unspeakable to him. Kurt couldn’t say that opera was something he vastly loved, but he could enjoy it, and if Puck would absolutely loathe it, then that would be perfect.
At that moment, their food arrived and after placing a napkin on his lap, Kurt started to cut into his salmon. ”So, when you’re not marketing, schmoozing or going to concerts, what do you do?”
Puck chuckled a bit, smiling at Kurt's compliment. "Thanks man," he said, actually believing the guy. He didn't think there'd be a reason for Kurt to lie or anything, and well, it was nice to know he was showing his enthusiasm for his job. Cause he did love it. Most people he tried to date, didn't really understand that. And then they tried to compare him to that 50s show, Mad Men, which always annoyed him.
His smile again turned into a grin as Kurt faked being in surprise that he was into concerts. "I do gots a soft side, course, but that ain't quite first date talk," Puck teased. Not many people would guess he was into Shakespeare, and had a good collection of his plays and stuff. But that was also something he didn't like to bring up much since a lot of times, people were so shocked it was off putting. He was pretty happy how well the date was going, seeming to keep Kurt interested and all. He didn't think it'd take that much more to really get the guy on the hook, though harder without taking him to bed. But Puck did like challenges after all.
"Damn, this food looks real good," he said, licking his lips as he remembered his manners to put his napkin on his lap, just right after Kurt did. He took a bite of his food, moaning at how good it did taste before answering. He figured speaking the truth was the best bet, than his normal lines he used. "'Sides sleeping? Haha. Just the usual, guess, hang out with my buds, go out on the town when I'm single, bum around with my guitar and a notebook, oh and fight crime," he said seriously. Well, he couldn't help but throw that last bit in for fun.
