“i don’t mind if she shoves food, so long as she cares about what’s in it. but apparently it’s hard to get the concept of allergies across to toddlers.” lola’s laugh blended with noah’s easily, the woman looking down at her daughter with the smile she almost always had plastered on her lips. “honestly, if you want to let her show you around i don’t mind at all, but she’ll just try and convince you that the room should be paw patrol themed.” it wasn’t new to for lola to see violet running towards anyone she could get to pay attention to her, but watching her daughter hold her arms out towards the man almost had her stomach sinking.
“vi, what are we supposed to do before cuddles?” she dropped to her knees to speak to her daughter, casting noah a quick glance as her daughter answered with an almost silent, ‘ask’. “should we ask noah then?” she turned with her daughter as the two year old got her words together and asked the man in front of her, her blonde hair bouncing on her shoulders as her arms reached out in front of her again. with a sigh she climbed back to her feet. “her rooms straight down the corridor, i took everything out for you. i’ll put the kettle on.”
noah watched on quietly as lola dropped to her knees and spoke to her little girl, immediately overwhelmingly impressed with the mere suggestion that she was teaching her toddler about stranger danger already. he kept a warm smile on his face as violet spoke, reaching her arms out to him a little nervously this time. "of course we can have cuddles. you know, i've been told by many girls i'm the best cuddler ever." he never once let his eyes move from violets, waiting for her to smile before he scooped her up and spun around in one fast circle. the sound of the toddlers laughter filled the home around him, a bright smile on his face as he shook his head.
"there we go. now we can go look at your room." he followed lola's directions and was in the bare bedroom in an instant, placing violet down so that she could run over to what few toys were left in the room. he took a beat to look around at the four white walls, one particular thought coming to mind. this had to be special. this little girl deserved something special. "oooh, i love dinosaurs." noah commented, sitting down on the floor and crossing his legs before violet was dropping down to sit in his lap like they'd known each other forever. they could have been sat there playing for hours for all noah knew, his body jumping slightly when he suddenly caught sight of lola from the corner of his eye. "well, mummy? which dinosaur is your favorite?" he asked, a smirk on his face as violet picked up the t rex and held it up to her mum.
