It's been a long, long time since a piece of writing made me well up. I don't cry much since starting T. But... I feel like, finally, a fellow Latinx male writer told my story, our story; Latino guys who've been sexually abused have a hard time telling. Toxic masculinity is so real. My own childhood abuse, coupled with an ex who was super abusive, have been the very source of my deepest trauma, and malfunctions in love and relationships since. I'm so grateful for therapy. This is why I have been single the past year and a half, the longest in my adult life. You never want to take that mask off, until you're ready; once you are, it's the most terrifying thing in the world.

This thesis isn't going to write itself. My short story collection has reached a stumbling block. It isn't writer's block, it's... a mental, traumatized, spiritual block that's much deeper.
