Some people might wonder why Fate of the Empress has so many playlists while Royal Chaos only has one; so let me explain. Royal Chaos has a continuous story that isn’t interrupted by fight scenes, whereas Fate of the Empress has a lot of fights in between and I’m only documenting the cutscenes.
This may be annoying, but I’m not really doing this for anyone but myself. I like when there are only videos of cutscenes rather than the whole story. For me, it gives incentive to go play the game. I want people to play these, I just don’t want them to have to pay FriendTime to go through the plot faster.
I’ll be adding more as I gather more videos. You can also find this list here.
dianzi ( 钿子) - qing dynasty headdress
dianzi in the manchu language is literally translated as a “hat ring”. this “hat ring” referred to the kind of hat supported by a circular iron wire in its rim. the base of a dianzi is usually made of thin rattan strips or wires wrapped with black silk, and woven into check or coin patterns, or other auspicious designs. gemstones and pearls are fixed onto the hat base in various auspicious patterns. dianzi is usually worn by noble women for special occasions, like weddings and birthday ceremonies, and traditional festivals.
dianzi are usually covered with enamel work representing flowers, leaves, butterflies and more. The blue colour comes from inlaid kingfisher’s feathers which, in the qing dynasty, was almost exclusively affordable by the imperial court and very rich families. The headdress also has a front fringe. The overall level of decoration relates to the class of the wearer – the kingfisher feathers and fringe give this headdress more value. when worn, a dianzi can be further decorated by the insertion of flowers and hairpins.
