BUSTAFELLOWS SEASON 2 - Limbo route review

(This review will contain spoilers for BUSTAFELLOWS season 1)

Now I do want to start this review by saying that I did nit finish the full game yet, only Limbo's route so do bote that what I am saying here only refers to Limbo's route and not the game as a whole yet. But itnis coming from someone who has the original BUSTAFELLOWS in their top five favorite otome games ever since I finished it in June of last year.

My overall impression is

Meh? :/

This route felt very.... slow? The drama parts of the route were pretty decent but all the other parts felt very... forced? It really did feel like forced conflict for the sake of forced conflict to generate Drama between Limbo and Teuta. Bustafellows season 1 had moments where it felt like 3 different writers wrote it with no communication and this problem is amplified in this route, it delt very disconnected at times.

Now Limbo is probably the one who ended up the most well off after the events of last game. Like there wasn't a very clear direction where they could take his character but my god the way my eyes rolled back of my head several times. The romance part was... not good? It felt frustrating for the lack of a better word. Overall a pretty weak showing from the game's poster boy.

Are there things to enjoy in this route? Of course, the voice acting and art is steller as always and Limbo lovers can probably still get some enjoyment out of the fanservice moments but overall I really hope the next routes will be better.

Teuta's and Limbo's inability to communicate drove me up the wall the entire route.

No matter how many times they thought 'wow I have to talk to my significant other' and how many advice they got about being clear and honest with each other and how they have to 'fight it out' they never do? They never had a meaningful clash of udeas and conflicts it just.... went away sliently. This entire route felt like a pot is slowly starting to boil only for an ice age to come to magically cool it down. Which is painfully realistic but doesn't make for a very good route.

I would give this route a 5/10

Sone parts of it were good, some were just okay and sone were frustratingly numbing

My next route will be Shu, when will I finish it? God knows I am playing the red bell laments at the same time as this so I really can't make promises.

Really enjoying collar x malice so far in ways I did not expect honestly

Finished Takeru, Mineo and Shiraishi's routes and right now I am in the middle of Kei's (hoping to finish the game by Monday but who knows since I am also watching Ave mujica and the very sad lesbians have taken over my brain)

But it is a very well crafted story, even when finding routes where I didn't really huy the romance (Mineo) quite enjoyable and fun to read.
