A personal fav of mine. About a man who witnesses the murder of a singer and meets a mysterious woman at her funeral, he discovers secrets about the singer and her connection to the woman. Every still is beautiful and people compare this to the neo-noir Blue Velvet.

2. I've heard the mermaids singing | 1987 | Patricia Rozema

A lonely, whimsical woman whose hobbies of capturing pictures of strangers border on stalking, gets a job at an art gallery and starts to be, maybe, less lonely in the presence of her boss. Perfect for someone who spends too much time in their head or art.

3. Gothic | 1986 | Ken Russell | free on tubi!

A group of friends must destroy a monster they believe they created. There's a lot of random scenes in between the plot, some explicit some just silly. But it's wild and creepy, everything weird, dreamy.

In the future taxes are collected on dreams. A government agent audits an old lady's artistic dreams. He falls in love with her on the journey inside her mind. Literally about dreams and the sets really do feel like one!!

A man commits suicide and wakes up in an afterlife solely for people who committed. People there can't smile. The purgatory like afterlife very much feels like a dream. Or nightmare.
