Hands down the cutest Shy Guy I've ever drawn.
FYI I did finish the colouring for this part, I just removed it to be super mysterious... did it work?

Quick question:
What determines if a character is complex or not to you?
Important notes:
This is not about if Jax as a character is complex or not, but Jax is a recent character that many people are discussing, that is why I'm tagging tadc. Feel free to use Jax or any other fictional character as an example for your opinion.
Stay friendly and respectful!
Honestly, I think any character that sparks intrigue beyond five seconds of thought is complex. A simple character that just does stuff for a very surface level reason isn't complex.
Here's a very basic concept of a character: Marianne is a 13-year-old girl with a tough attitude. She has good grades and never turns in her work late, but she doesn't have many friends.
Now, let's question her personality: Why is Marianne so aggressive? If she's not complex, the answer is... well, that's just how she is. See? Very surface level; nothing to dive into.
However, maybe there's more to it than that. Maybe, at some point, we see a bit of Marianne's home life. She's the 6th of 12 siblings, has an absent mother, and a father who works three jobs to stay afloat. Despite her chaotic household, she acts very casual about it, maybe even a bit apathetic. That opens the room for questions: Does she think her abrasive behaviour is normal because that's what she learned growing up; fighting for attention gets you your way? Or is the scar left by her absent mother still bleeding, and she pushes others away because she doesn't want to get hurt again, meaning the apathy is some sort of façade? Both? Neither?
INTRIGUE.
Personally, I think this kind of thing only works if you give enough time for the questions to emerge. If we're told "Marianne is abrasive because that's just who she is", giving her a bunch of backstory in episode 24 out of 26 would feel super tacked on... why answer a question that nobody asked? However, if you allude to something around episodes 3-8 out of 26 (maybe an off-handed comment or a little glimpse of her perspective at the end of an episode), we get plenty of time to create theories about her personality based on the small clues we were given, and we're left on the edge of our seats trying to figure out what her friggin' deal is. And once we do, it feels so sweet for all of our analyses to have finally paid off.
That's all from me... I'd love to see what any others think :)
So I randomly felt a burst of energy and am on an art high right now... but quick question: Do you ever just ship something for zero reason? The characters never interact or even know of each other, but you ship 'em just... because?
I know a lot of people dislike those kinds of ships because "they literally have zero chemistry" but you know deep down that they're... only partially right... I dunno. I could be alone on this but I like a lot of ships and think they're charming despite the source material hinting at NOTHING between the characters involved. Anyone else feel the same? >_<

Guess who made some time for drawing on the side and finished the linework? This blogger! :)
I couldn't get the screenshot on the right to not be potato quality, so... that's what we're going with! Is it obvious I'm in a good mood?
Stay tuned, I'll try to finish colouring in a timely manner. :)
A non-Shy Guy? In MY Nochorro blog? Blasphemy.
I'm so close to being done with lineart that I can practically taste it. (???) I coloured some panels already, and soon some more will follow suit.
Thanks for your patience! :)
Random but if I were to call my lineart anything, it'd be "scratchy". Something about it itches the deepest crevices of my brain which is probably why 90% of my time spent on pieces is just on the lines
Also here's some more progress. I want to start colouring some panels by the end of the day
"End of the month" was so laughable...
Cheers!

This is prolly the most unorthodox thing I'll ever make and I love it
Hey sorry about the lack of an update, I keep underestimating how long it takes me to make stuff
It's not me being a perfectionist and tweaking little things, it's that I try to make such big stuff bc I need to
Here's a funny image.

The time has finally come to share the first chapter of my new book! I've been planning for years to give more detailed look into the backstories of my OCs, and I think this is the perfect opportunity to introduce all of them through this story.

Started a new attempt at a small comic again. Last time was humbling and helped me recognise that I should start small and simple.
Expect another ambitious post by the end of the month! :)
