Okay so this might be a bit long to read, so buckle up!
I want to thank everyone who stepped up during this complicated time. I really didn’t expect that much, and I’m very overwhelmed. My sister and I are forever grateful for the help we received.
We told my mom on Saturday about the go fund me, and that her surgery was now fully funded. She broke down, cried a lot, and that’s something I want to thank you all for.
Money and the relief of knowing she can heal is everything, but what you did for her is something nobody has ever done for her before.
My mom always been the one who helps, the one who cares and who gives, but rarely she has been on the other end of the helping hand. What happened re shaped the way she sees community and solidarity (her words). You made her feel like she matters, that people cared, and for that, I want to thank you all. Hope is everything for broken people, and that’s something she had given up on a long time ago. Thank you for reminding my mom she deserved to feel important and loved. I wish she would have been helped way more during her life, because god damn she was given no fucking rest.
To all my friends, co workers, mutus, you’re so fucking real. Thank you so much. I owe you BIG TIME. Knows that I’m here for you as well.
And to every person I do not know, your compassion is everything. Never lose your will to help and your ability to care. You are everything people who don’t have hope anymore. Trust in the community, and just know that being here, visibly, is already something that will allow people to go on. Thank you!
I read every comments, stories, messages you sent, and god knows you all had stuff to say! Thank you for for your words, for your prayers. And to those who shared their stories with me, I feel for you as well. I hope your loved ones are forever safe.
A huge thank you from the three of us
