Alright, I'm gonna say this right now, and if you don't agree with me because of a arbitrary hill you're dying on, feel free to block me, because I honestly don't care, and this needs to be said. I will block anyone who disagrees also cause, I'm 24 and don't wanna argue over something stupid. Yes, I realize I've placed a metaphorical pipe bomb, but there are bigger fish to fry so, at this point, I don't give a damn.
1: Gooseworx did nothing wrong and you're just mad a trans girl made a successful show and are looking for reasons to hate her that aren't tied to gender or gender identity.
2: Goose is not and has never been or associated with pedos. While 14 and 17 are a big age gap for real, remember 17 is still a kid, it's literally like if a high school freshman and senior dated. Again, while the age gap is fairly large, it isn't out of the ordinary. Also, it was a long time ago and Goose had no part to play in that relationship so, why are we mad at her??? This isn't the epstine files.
3: There's no evidence of Goose being racist or a nazi. Those "evidential posts" were and are just sarcasm and edgy jokes and the fact that you can't tell says more about you than her.
4: Goose or Glitch is not at fault for the episode 9 leaks, it just happened out of the blue in a DIFFERENT COUNTRY.
5: Jax is not a bad rep of trans folks (Yes, she's trans, don't even argue.) and people need to realize just as there are bad cis people; a lot of bad cis people, there are bad or jerk trans people too and representing that in media is important because it shows that not all trans folk are angels who did/can do no wrong and are human. This does not excuse Jax for her horrible actions against other circus guests. Some trans people act like jerks when they're in the closest and denying it. Trans jerks exist. Goose making a problematic character doesn't mean she's problematic herself. Some self inserts are just them putting their worst traits into a character as a way to talk about it more. I should know, I write a lot of them.
6: Someone doing a cover of a song originally by a black person, isn't offensive or racist. And Glitch/Goose using a cover of Isn't She Lovely isn't morally wrong or problematic and doesn't remove the og context of the song. Just because the focal point of the song changed (from a father talking about a newborn baby to narrating the flashback of a trans girl) doesn't change much. The line "Less than one minute old" although originally referring to a baby, can also refer to a newly out trans girl in the context of Jax. Just because the focus of the song changed for a movie, doesn't mean the whole song changed meaning. In the end, the meaning and context of the lyrics remains the same as it was before. Black people do covers of songs just as much as the vis versa happens all the time and it isn't something, to clutch pearls at. The lyrics didn't change, only the singer did, therefore it shouldn't be something to be mad at.
Conclusion, once again, Goose didn't do anything wrong and y'all are just mad a trans woman succeeded more than you. If you're gonna keep complaining and staying mad, go back to Twitter with your hive mind. Tumblr isn't the place for that or any hate towards trans people. There are more things to actually be mad at. Pedos run the country, ICE is still actively taking people away from their homes and families, trans folks are still being hunted in the streets and the world is on fucking fire. Grow up.
This is why, as a trans person, I'm afraid to be/get famous or do something big enough for recognition, as much as I want to.
