“He needs you to be there.” Nightmare said, gazing into Dream at first and then past him at the floor. “No one else in the village cares about him like you do.”

Dream shook his head slowly, mouth a tremulous line.

“Why do you think you have to go to the Healer so badly?” Nightmare gently brushed the tear off of Dream’s cheek.

The child shifted, now guilty and reluctant to answer, sniffling softly and rubbing his eyes. Nightmare waited patiently as Dream took in a deep breath.

“I just…” Dream mumbled. “I thought I had to.”

“Why?”

“I dunno.” He helplessly said, aimless frustration welling inside of him. It was clear he didn’t understand very well himself, which should have been expected of a child. Dream wasn’t the same person he remembered.

He still doesn’t trust me. Nightmare still thought. Does he think I’ll poison his brother?

“What if you don’t come back?” Dream helplessly blurted.

for mermay, it’s been on my mind all month but I haven’t had much drawing time so instead something quick: @popatochisssp sf papyrus, Rus, from her mermay chapters. In his chapter it didn’t mention any slutty seaweed clothing that’s a personal touch <3. you can totally read the chapter here, I’d recommend it, all of poppy’s writing is good and fun and deserves attention

Imagine throwing a tantrum over a character people feel attached to, who isn’t causing anyone harm. What you're trying to argue here is the actual incomprehensible thing here.

Jakei sucks for making XTale Chara and Frisk male Jakei sucks for making XTale Characters skin with the color of a wall instead of realistic skintones Jakei sucks for making XGaster aroace because there can't be aroace antagonists. And now, Jakei sucks for making Cross trans-coded.

If you don’t like my work, just say so. I can respect that. But coming up with ridiculous arguments and pretending to have psychological expertise just to claim I make character choices for popularity? Spare me. Cry me a river. I'm sorry if your arguments are probably shaped by where you're from and what you've lived, but that’s on you.

For years, I’ve explored Cross and discovered that he can have trans-coded traits. IT MIGHT NOT BE THE PERFECT REPRESENTATION OF A TRANS-CODED CHARACTER, but I like what I’m doing. HELLO, THAT'S WHAT A WRITER DOES, EXPLORE THEIR CHARACTERS!

It makes me happy that people feel validated when they noticed it even before I’ve explicitly said anything. MANY people have felt represented by him and other characters without me needing to explain. What have YOU done to create this kind of reaction?

I only mentioned it publicly because I was happy others noticed. But I’ve since decided to stick with the "Show, Don’t Tell" approach. I’m glad people can see and like my attempt at creating a trans-coded character and I'm okay with people interpret him as a trans character outright.

Don’t throw me a fit because I write my characters the way I want or because people resonate with him in ways you don’t approve of.

Honestly, I’m happy to take a year and a half break away from folks like you. Here, I give you a Trans- coded Cross throwing you a trans coded blaster with all my love.

PD. You are still valid for me 🏳️‍⚧️, and I'm not using my characters for empathy points from the LGBTQ+ community, I hate to clarify that, but see the things people are willing to say about me. And don't start coming at me with "Jakei is attacking small user, so evil, so cruel" I'm gonna defend myself from horrible takes like this. Period. AND NO. NOBODY, DON'T START HARASSING ANYONE OVER THIS NO MATTER HOW UPSET THIS MAKES YOU. PERIOD. PERIOD.
