Let us not forget Black trans people this Black History Month!
My partner and I are seriously struggling financially right now. I quit my previous job over the summer because it was not a safe place for me to work as an out transgender person, and staying in the closet was no longer sustainable. I was fortunate enough to receive unemployment benefits and, up until now, I managed to pay my bills and feed myself with those checks. However, as of last week, I am no longer eligible to collect unemployment. I've applied for many jobs over the past few months, but have not heard back from any of them. My gut tells me it has something to do with my trans status, as my name and gender marker are currently not updated to reflect my proper identity. I'm in the process of changing this, but it's a slow and costly process and I need to be able to live in the meantime. I'm going to keep applying to jobs, but I don't see myself being hired as long as this is an issue. So, until that changes, my partner and I are living solely off their disability income, which was already barely enough to make them through the month by themselves; with me in the mix it's made things impossible. On top of all of that, my partner's car, which we share, has consistently been having problems. Currently, the automatic window on the driver's side is stuck rolled all the way down, which we've tried to repair ourselves with no luck. This causes some obvious safety and security issues and, especially since the weather has started to get colder, makes driving very difficult. So yeah, to cut it short, we really could use some help. Even if you're unable to donate, please consider signal boosting so that it may reach some more people.

Tattoo done by Miryam Lumpini.
This is the first time Iâve seen color tattoos on dark skin that actually look vibrant and pigmented!!!!!
Once I was talking to a dark skinned lady who told me that she was jealous of my pasty skin because she wants color tattoos, which her artist said wasnât possible with her skin tone. I sent her to mine, and he proceeded to go off about how dark skin accepts greens, yellows, and white beautifully, and that her previous artist just lacked the skills to use those 3 colors as highlights to make other colors pop more. If you are dark skinned and your tattoo artist says you canât have bright colors, find a new one.
Re-blogged again for that added text!!!
Holy wow, it's been a year. :o
remembering that you inhabit a body and that your physical appearance is inevitably tied into how people perceive you
If cis women were to ever actually really stand up for trans women I can guarantee ud lose like ur entire queer and feminist fan base overnight lol like not even joking in the slightest , Bc actually standing up to transmisogynists is Ugly and violent and a passive aggressive fever dream. It is manipulation on a level which canât even be put to words like You all donât understand the mind games that is transmisogyny until u start confronting it on a daily basis Bc itâs so much more than just twerps with bad urls , itâs ur best friends and all ur feminist favs , itâs everything none of you are willing to actually ever give up
No two women have the same experience. All feminism is founded not on actual essential unity, but on political coalition and affirmation of shared political needs and goals.
Race, culture, class, birth assignment, religion, and countless other factors mean all women experience womanhood differently. Excluding trans women because we have a different life experience misses the point that all women have different life experiences. This idea isnât even new, its not even specific to trans women, its literally the point Crenshaw and Collins and Mohanty and countless other woc and third world feminists have been making for decades now.
Falling (Twin Peaks Theme) - Field Mouse.
I was a very, very late adopter to Twin Peaks. You canât really blame me, since it came out in 1990 and I was only 7 years old at the time. Iâm also not much of a film âbuffâ - so seeing all of David Lynchâs work isnât very high on my list of priorities. But a couple of years ago I got my hands on the entire series after seeing it referenced all over the Internet and Twitter, like some sort of cool cult club that I wasnât a part of. Needless to say I loved it, itâs a series that has really stayed with me - mysterious, weird, often hilarious⊠and what the hell happened in the end anyway?
So, itâs kind of cool to hear a new version of the legendary theme song. Field Mouse is a band from Brooklyn, NY and this cover is a bonus on their October single How Do You Know.

Was Jesus happy with the body he was given? Is anybody happy with the body they were given? Is anybody happy?
Y'know, probably not actually

I love every single person who reblogged this
I donât think people realize how much of an impact this kind of support can have, I donât think everyone knows what these little things can mean to us.
It may just be me, I donât know. But every single time I see this on my dash or on someoneâs blog or anywhere else, I kind of just breathe a sigh of relief. Thatâs one more person who cares. Thatâs one more person who doesnât hate me.
Because it means so much, especially when all the media is spewing out is that Iâm a terrible person and no one wants people like me near them. It means so much because Iâm tired of people who wonât sit next to me in class, or who choose to join the longer line at the grocery store because they donât want to be beside me and my family. It means so much when I have to lift my head any time someone says the words Islam or Muslim because Iâm scared that theyâll say something thatâll hurt, when I have to pay attention to the news because who knows what so and so is saying now, who knows which of my people are being attacked now, who knows whatâs going to happen to me now.
It means so much because Iâve been given the idea that the world is against me. And a huge part of it may be, but at least Iâve been reminded that some of it, just a small group of people, acknowledges that Iâm a person too. That people like me are just that, people.
Maybe itâs just me, I donât know. But now you do, so thank you for believing that Iâm human when so many people donât.
