Piers is always cold. Raihan is a furnace. Them cuddling works out pretty well for both of them.

When they started officially dating, they didn't make it public for almost six months. They both have such large fan bases that they knew there would be little privacy once that came out. But when you have such blabber mouths like team yell around it's a miracle that kept it secret that long. Raihan just posted a selfie of them together and tagged Piers as his boyfriend and that was that.

Team Yell is the crew of this ship and Marnie is the captain. Shes very happy her brother found someone. Especially someone as handsome and friendly as Raihan.

Selfies and stories taken backstage and during Piers concerts are a regular on Raihans Instagram.

Piers is a regular at Raihans matches during the gym challenge and exhibitions. Dude has a set of pipes on him and he will cheer his boyfriend on. Though he will try to play it off later.

Piers has never been good with pda while Raihan is all over it. They'll start small with hand holding or arms around the shoulder. Raihan is affectionate and will kiss Piers or hug him at every opportunity. Piers doesn't mind all too much, Raihan is very good at taking it slow.

Piers loves having his hair played with. Raihan has discovered that if he plays with his hair while they cuddle, it will lull Piers to sleep. He now uses it to his advantage when he knows Piers needs a nap.

Raihan has essentially become Marnie's second brother. Hes been very helpful showing her the ropes about the league and being a gym leader, along with ideas of what she can do to attract more people to the gym. Piers is grateful there's someone else looking out for her at league things when he can't be there. Raihan is happy to do it, he's always wanted a little sister.

Piers has stolen a couple of Raihans hoodies. He's fairly tall himself, but because he's so thin, they engulf him. Plus it's perfectly warm. It's the best relaxing on a gloomy day piece.

On the flipside, Raihan cant fit into Piers clothes. Which is a shame because Piers has this leather jacket that's so cool that Raihan really likes. So as a present, Piers got him a matching one in his size. It became an instant favorite of raihans and he wears it almost as much as his signature hoodie.

Training buddies? Training buddies. Raihan is always impressed at Piers ability to battle and always wants to train with him. They battle all the time, without dynamax of course.

You would think with one being a rockstar and the other an internet celebrity, they would always be out at parties and concerts, but no. Work wears them both out and when given the opportunity their date night is a night in.

Raihan likes to tease and Piers can be bashful sometimes. However after awhile he gets used to Raihans antics and is almost unaffected. But when Raihan can manage to make him blush, Piers will flush from head to toe.

Raihans lap is Piers seat of choice. You could fit four more people on the couch? No, lap. He's like a cat. It makes Raihan feel special but also he legally cannot move.

Raihans favorite thing is the hear Piers sing. Not just performing, but singing at home, either as practice or for his own enjoyment. It'll be morning and Piers will strum his guitar and sing softly for no other reason than he wants too, and dragon boy will just silently listen, completely enamored.

Dragon types and dark types are both known to be unruly and difficult to train. So they both have a good idea of how to deal with the others pokemon. Introducing the teams to each other went over much better than expected. People say that's usually a positive sign for a couples future.

Guzma was never actually abused. his father was saying Guzma beat him in a Pokemon battle, he uses the same exact language as in a postgame conversation where he talks about Guzma returning and challenging him to a Pokemon battle (this is more obvious in other translations). his dad seems like a caring dad, plus Guzma has no bad feelings toward him which wouldnt make sense if he was a violent abuser. its almost certainly GUZMA who broke those golf clubs, considering his anger problems & temper.

OK, the one point I’m willing to concede here is about the golf clubs. Examining them only states that many of them are bent and broken. The only other things you can examine are photos on the wall of Guzma’s past achievements, photo albums that no one has looked at in a while, trophies that have been gathering dust, and a bed that hasn’t been slept in for a while. All of these relate to Guzma and his past, so it’s more likely that Guzma used those golf clubs and bent them in his anger and frustration over losing and not being the best like he’d been pushing himself to be, and he even broke some of them when his temper was bad enough. The idea that Guzma’s father beat him with golf clubs is most likely not something intended by Gamefreak, making it a huge misconception about Guzma’s background and Fanon rather than canon text.

That said, there’s still evidence in the game that points to Guzma having been treated with some form of abuse in his childhood. There’s clear evidence that points to emotional and psychological abuse as well as more subtle evidence that points to physical abuse.

The former can be summarized in six words - “Guzma, what is wrong with you?” Just why does Guzma feel the need to say this every time he loses a battle, even clutching his head as though he’s been whacked there before and associates the words he says now with a sensation in the back of his head. (In Adventures, he even engages in self harm when he does this!) Why would he have this aggressive attitude, violent temper and equally violent tendencies, a desire to assert his superiority by crushing all his opponents in battle, psychotic frustration and self loathing over losing battles, and a craving for acknowledgement, approval, and validation that led him to trying to become a Trial Captain and following Lusamine’s crazy plans? All this typically doesn’t materialize out of nowhere, it has to have come from somewhere. So when you couple all those displays of aggression to mask vulnerability and self-consciousness with what you see in Guzma’s house - golf clubs, trophies, photos of Guzma’s past wins at sports - it suggests that his father is the pushy, overbearing, emotionally abusive, perfectionist “coach dad”, the kind who sets a path for his child in certain fields of interest (competitive sports in this case) and expects the absolute best out of them in these fields that the child didn’t even choose, and who take “discipline” to a toxic extreme. So whenever Guzma failed to play his best or flat out lost at competitive sport, his dad likely got on his case about it, asking “Guzma, what is wrong with you?” and smacking him on the back of his head when he got mouthy or just to discipline him in general, sending the message to Guzma that if he wasn’t as great as his father hoped he could be and wanted and expected him to be, there was something wrong with him, and that losing was something that was to be met with pain and disapproval. This explains a lot about the kind of person Guzma grew into, and also fits with what Plumeria said about Lusamine being “the only adult to ever acknowledge how strong he was.” Even if his parents did acknowledge Guzma’s strengths, the disappointment and disapproval from them is what stuck in Guzma’s mind the most.

As for the latter? Aside from the “whacking him on the back of the head” thing, Guzma’s fixation with how he “beats you down and beats you down and never lets up”, and even calling himself stuff like “the hated boss” and “destruction in human form”, just reeks of a Freudian angle. He later tells Hala outright “Beating people down is all I know!” If he was really raised well by caring parents, how could beatdowns be all he knows unless “beating down” is what he was encouraged to do to his opponents in competition and combat, and if he’s suffered the effects of such beatdowns himself, from his own father maybe? Also, if he was just talking about a Pokemon battle, then where’s Guzma’s dad’s Pokemon? We don’t see any Pokemon in that house, so how do we even know whether or not the man’s even a trainer of any sort? There’s less strong evidence for this than all the above, but Gamefreak had Guzma written like a textbook example of how a victim of parental violence in addition to parental abuse might turn out later in his life.

Guzma’s family home might not look like a broken home and his parents might seem like decent people at first glance, but considering not only everything about Guzma’s character on an emotional and psychological level, but the fact that he allegedly ran away from home without saying a word to his parents, and we don’t know what his dad’s way of trying to “straighten him out” was before he got beat by his son (whenever that happened), there had to be something really messed up with Guzma’s home life and his relationship with his parents, his father in particular. I’m absolutely certain that Guzma’s dad wanted to be a caring dad in his own way and in his mind he was doing he felt what was best for his son. He didn’t mean to hurt his son so badly, and he likely just “got beat” in a way involving Pokemon, and he and Guzma aren’t on such bad terms anymore (not that they’re on good terms either), and that there is some love there on the dad’s part. None of that excuses or erases that he was abusive as a parent, and that Team Skull Boss Guzma was the result of the abuse.
