like. Amy who's comphet. Christian born and bred Amy. Amy liked— loved— Teddy, he was nice and good and easy and a man of God. he was her clear path, only guy she ever dated, only guy she ever kissed. they waited til marriage, they had babies. she was doing good. she was good.
she's always found women pretty. who doesn't? it just made sense to her, women are prettier than men, they're supposed to be. and maybe her gazes lingered a little too long on her female classmates in highschool, but it doesn't mean anything. it never did. right?
Dennis is nice. really nice. but sometimes he brings around that.... girl. Amy is good. Amy practices patience. Trinity is a godly name, anyways, Amy can handle a few snide comments and judgemental gazes.
she doesn't think Trinity likes her. it shouldn't matter. she doesn't need Trinity to like her. why does she want it so bad? striking green eyes, silky black hair, tank tops that ride up on her stomach— really, couldn't she find some sense of modesty? not that she notices. not that she looks at that pale sliver of skin, not that something weird curls in her own gut.
Trinity is tolerable. Trinity is.... she's so pretty, and every time she opens that smart mouth Amy can't pretend she doesn't look at it. ever perceptive Trinity, of course, notices.
she makes advances, subtle at first, excuses for proximity. til Amy breathes in her perfume, sweet but smoky, vanilla and musk. guilt threatens to make her sick every night as she prays it away, holds onto her cross and tries desperately to think of Teddy. she might never marry again. he was her one true love, her god-given path. she can't defile it like this.
Trinity doesn't hold such qualms. she only pushes further, a little more insistent, until one day she shows up at the farm to help— except no Dennis. sturdy Dennis who does most of the work anyways, reliable Dennis who's like a brother Amy never had. safe Dennis, moderator Dennis.
Trinity makes some excuse on how Dennis is sick, but she's free to help. Amy doesn't believe it, feels bad not believing it, feels bad assuming deception of another. she's supposed to see the good in people.
it's fine, at first, it's fine. the kids go down for nap time easy, the chores breeze through, Amy tries her hardest not to stare at Trinity's arms, the tattoos she shouldn't like the look of as much as she does. Trinity drifts ever closer. leans over Amy to reach things, casts her a slight smirk.
and Amy for once in her life gives into the temptation, when Trinity's hands settle on her waist, Trinity's breath brushes over her mouth. Trinity's voice murmurs poor thing, isn't it so hard? never taught you this in bible school, did they? supposed to resist, aren't you? try it. pull away.
Amy does, and Trinity tugs her right back, closer, as the fight drains out of Amy. she's never kissed a girl and she's never let herself fully realize how badly she wants to. how much she hates the idea of dying without ever knowing what it feels like, what Trinity might taste like on her tongue. hates herself for it.
and it escalates. and Trinity's fingers are crooking inside of her so perfect, and Amy doesn't think she's ever cum so easy, usually rubbing herself the rest of the way after Teddy finishes. and she feels sick for thinking it, and Trinity sees right through. mumbles he never made you feel like this, did he? Trinity's soft laugh brushes through her hair, and Amy knows she's strayed from God.
